Issues with File transfer to new S4

Everywhere it says that it is super easy to file transfer but it won't work for me. Have my phone plugged into the computer and set to MTP and then I tried Kies, I tried windows media player, I tried dragging and dropping and nothing works. I can't get a single song or anything onto my phone. It sits there at like 4% for 10 mins and then times out or says I disconnected the phone. Getting REALLY frustrated, never had these issues with my iphone! :'(

I always had this problem on my s3 and note 2. Unfortunately it looks like they didn't think it was an issue...

It's usually a driver issue. Try getting the proper drivers and then dragging files with windows folders.

Do you mean like drivers for my computer what sort of drivers would I need to get?

Yea you need to install samsung drivers to your pc. I have never been able to use a samsung phone out the box, they always need drivers. Not sure why, I believe it has to do with the usb protocol they use.

I figured out what the issue was, I was plugged into my front usb port and it works perfectly with the back ones. Thanks so much for your replies and help!
