Issues with Google talk video

My wife has a thunderbolt and we can't get video chat to work. I can try to connect to her and nothing happens. She also tries and I don't get a notification on my nexus. I do notice that after she tries to contact me, after a few seconds her phone says shes offline on Google chat. Anyone have this issue?

yes, I did. Pulling the battery and SIM for 5 minutes fixed it, though others have reported that turning background data off and back on worked for them.
