Issues with having a case on the S8/S8+ and the USB-C?

Anyone having connectivity issues regarding the usb-c port on the bottom of the phone because of their case? I'm currently running the Speck Presidio Grip case and it may be posing some problems. I cannot use the usb-c to USB converter that the phone came with because of the case. I also have seen that people cannot use a case if they want to dock their phone on the Dex station. Just wanted to know if others were having this problem and if anyone knew of some solutions other than taking off the case.

Welcome as a new member! I had very slight interfernce with the adapter and my Spigen Tough Armor case, but a small file took care of that easily. Granted, the converters are somewhat large and I can see that would be a problem with some cases. Pretty much a slam dunk that Dex wouldn't work, just like the VR goggles as Samsung has to design for the phone, not a few hundred different case combinations.

No problem with the OtterBox defender case.

You have used the otter box defender with the VR, the Dex, and the usb-c to USB connector with no issues? Is it just because the bottom of the case is very open or something?

In response to the Op, I have used the original usb-c charger and an after market adapter with no problem. I have not tried to use with the VR or Dex.

I got the Samsung Dex and have an Otter box case on my Galaxy 8+. The only way to use it was to remove the case. then i got this adapter and BAM - don't have to remove the case and works great!

I got the Samsung Dex. I have an Otter box case on my Galaxy 8+. The only way to use it was to remove the case. I got a TUSITA USB C Female to male extender adapter and BAM - don't have to remove the case and works great!

There has ALWAYS been issues with fat connectors and cases, has NOTHING to do with usb-c. You just need a cable that has slimmer shielding around the plugs.

There is no cable used conecting S8/S8+ or Note to DeX.

The DeX is slower using Ethernet than Wi-fi oddly enough, and picky about chargers so use the original OEM I've found.

Oreo will or is suppose to help using DeX but it really needs, and is a totally different ball game using Note 8. Night and day. I would get constant warnings on S8+ to close windows, save work, low on memory. And never see that on N8.
