Issues with Live Message

Anyone has the note 8 and not able to send live messages through text?
I currently have wifi calling enabled.
I Can send sms and picture messages.
But cannot send the live messages or Gifs
Carrier is tmobile

What does legacy mean?

Disabled WiFi calling because despite having set to Prefer Cellular the Note 8 is enabling WiFi Calling anyway.

well, I'm having issues now. wifi calling is disabled and it still won't go out using legacy setting in Textra. any other ideas?

I am using Textra too, I have tried using Legacy settings and even set my limit to 2000 and even none and can not get a Live message to send. I am able to send gifs normally and they go fine but it seems to only affect the new live messages. I am using the Samsung Unlocked version on AT&T

I can't get to the gifs because the options don't show for me. no images, etc., only emojis, so I setup gboard to see if I can with it and haven't tested yet. detest the Sammy keyboard. always have and that's not going to change. (custom launcher)

I'm on sprint and not unlocked

Edit: Actually it doesnt work with the stock messaging app either.

Im using unlocked Note8 on ATT.

Yeah same on mine. Tried messenger and stock on my unlocked Note 8 on ATT and refuses to send due to size.

Is ur phone unlocked??

Works for me if I use the default messaging app. I have an AT&T device.

It doesn't work for Android messages nor Textra.

Not true - it works when my sister sends me gifs that she gets from giphy and when she sends me a live message - we're both on AT&T and the phones we have are AT&T branded.

Well at least while using GBoard it will not let me insert GIF’s into the stock messaging app

So folks.....Here is the issue with Live Messages failing to send on AT&T.

AT&T has what they call "Advanced Messaging" which increases the
send/receive limits from 1MB to 10MB but unfortunately because AT&T plays dirty they restrict factory unlocked US devices from being able to use this feature. You must use a locked AT&T carrier version for Live Messages to send properly regardless of whether you use the default messaging app or Textra. In the carrier version you have the option to enable "Advanced Messaging".

Whack!!

Works with Allo and Hangouts tho. So another reason to start using Allo.
