Issues with the headphone adapter?

I don't have Bluetooth headphones yet and my adapter isn't working right. I have to plug in the adapter and unplug it and the headphones several times to get it to work.
Anyone else having this problem? Should I complain to Google?

Same thing happens for me. Sometimes it works great and some times it doesn't. However, each time a restart fixes things, and it picks up the dongle and headphones right away. It's really frustrating given that this was the issue i was most worried about with the Pixel 2.

I can confirm that mine works fine, so I suspect there must be some defective units.
Whilst the sound using the adapter is really good, I find using it a bit of a pain, so I still want to get some Bluetooth phones, when I can find some good on-ear ones that are not too expensive.
Hope you get sorted soon

mine is not working either. I plug it in but the sound continues to come from the external speakers.

Mine works fine, though I like the sound from the HTC adapter I bought to test a little better than the Google one.

I'm going to have to call Google as it doesn't seem to be working at all for me with Google Play music. I tried with 2 different pairs of head phones.

Ok I did call Google. I factory reset my phone and now the dongle works like it should. If it happens again, they'll send me a new dongle. And then obviously a new phone if it persists.

My dongle worked but not with my phone at first. I updated all my apps charged the phone all the way. turned phone off and back on it worked.

I read this thread before I even tried my dongle adapter out...but my friend wanted to test out Duo with me tonight, and I wanted privacy, so for the first time (this is my first phone without a 3.5 jack) I grabbed headphones and stupidly realized I had nowhere to plug them in, hahaha...

So I got the dongle out. BOOM. Worked immediately. Guess I've gotten lucky.

I have been using my LG neck buds with no problem, decided last night I needed to test the dongle with my Bose QC25s. Sound was horrible and staticy. Brought them into work with me this morning plugged them in to replicate the issue and call Google. Sound is perfect. Tried plugging them in several times and can't replicate the issue. I will chalk it up to sunspots and move on.

Reset? As in I lose everything and start factory fresh? I don't think I like that option.

When I first plugged my adapter in, I was asked to choose a default app for when I plugged this device in. I chose my music player, Neutron. It wasn't really working well, sometimes yes, sometimes no, and when I plugged the adapter in nothing really happened. So I re-booted, and since then it's worked pretty much flawlessly. Sounds pretty good too!

I am getting the same issues with my q25. Hearing static

Does anybody know if the dongle can be used with headphones w/mic? Can you try it out?
Thanks
