Issues with the new 4.1.2 ATT update?

You can change which apps are on the multi window task bar easily. Click on the edit button then press and hold and slide a app you wish to remove from the menu bar onto the app page that opened (it has a grey background). If you scroll the menu bar up and down you will see that all of the apps that are capable of running in multi windows are listed including 3rd party apps the are coded to allow such use.

I had the same issue with my new Note 8 running 4.1.2. However after about a week it quite doing this and now my full Swiftkey program (not the factory Samsung Swiftkey version) stays the default. Why? Heck if I know, but I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The keyboard issue is fixed in 4.2.2

Well, that's good news. But if AT&T continues to release updates months after other carriers, may not see 4.2.2 in another 6 months. But I hope I'm wrong.

That was removed with this update. I also liked it but there were many complained that did not.

Seriously? Removed by Google or ATT? I liked that feature.

This has always been the case, though. I've experienced that since I bought this phone and in all of the searching I've done, I have read that this is an issue with android and not SwiftKey. I was hoping that this would be fixed with the new update. :'(

Hey everyone, got my problem taken care of (see post #11), I cleared my cache and that took care of it. I don't know why I didn't think of it, my son-in-law mentioned it, (he's a cell phone store manager), maybe it'll help with some other issues some are having. Just in case you don't know how: hold down the home button>select the pie chart>select RAM at the top>clear memory. I normally do this every couple of days but didn't think to do it after the update.

Hi everyone, my wife has the GS3 and has always had GPS problems(it rarely locates her no matter which app we use). Does anyone notice any improvements with GPS?

So here are my issues with the upgrade:
S Beam keeps turning off by itself.
Gmail update prevents me from getting notified of new emails.
Swiping to right of contact will no longer allow me to call my contact.
Noticed a lag in receiving my text messages.

These issues persist even after doing the painful factory reset. Any suggestions?

UPDATE:
Called AT&T. They're suggesting that I go to store so that they can check to see if OS update loaded correctly. If it did load correctly, then at this point they will exchange my unit. Ugh! I have THE worst luck with Android updates.

My Yahoo email app has stopped working since the update, guess I'll have to try Yahoo's latest update even though Play Store reviewers are saying it stinks. They're also saying the latest update for GMail stinks too FWIW.

Installed the latest Yahoo email update and it's working again.

Hi. Can anyone confirm that WiFi Tether- TrevE Mod is working with 4.1.2? I really want to update but I am afraid my WIFI tethering won't work. Can anyone report this working with a rooted phone with out errors? Thanks for the help.

So I tried to update my s3 today and it seemed like it started to do it then it force closed. Now it says I can't check for an update for 24 hours. Anyone help? Wanna see what the update is all about. And don't even talk to me about kies haha.

Go into settings>date and time>turn off the automatic date and time and set the date 1 - 2 days ahead. You should then be able to try again. Just remember to set it back or you'll be really messed up

It still works on my S4 running 4.2.2 but the gesture has changed. Try swiping from right edge to left edge and back to the right edge in one motion.

Thank you for your suggestion. I accidentally discovered that awkward swipe motion yesterday. It used to be so seamless and now the feature is so cumbersome.

Hello, I have a Samsung S3 and I just update it to 4.1.2. I think every features is fine including the multi-view, paper art and the file transfer thing. However, my camera is missing the best face feature that I have been looking forward to. After update, i tried to use the camera, but it freeze and say the camera has failed. I restart my phone and camera is working normally. However, all the features like best face, buck shot and more are missing. I have tried download the firmware of the cam and dial *#34971539#. The button to check firmware is working. The button for "phone to cam FW write" is greyed out, even though i have already download the right firmware and unzip it into my internal memory card. Can Anyone help me fix this problem because I really want the best face feature.

Edit: I have found the fix. Turn out all i need to do is go to camera settings and reset all the settings. I hope this help anyone who has the same problem.

The only glitch I've experienced is while in messaging or the call logs, a left swipe would "new message" and a right swipe would "call" the person. I've lost my right swipe! :'( I honestly haven't poked around yet to see if something changed that shouldn't have. Anyone else see this?

It still works on my ATT phone...

My GPS was always flawless until the 4.1.1 update earlier this year. After that update I started to have random GPS issues where it would be fine for awhile and then all of a sudden it would just lose signal and the only way to get it back was to reboot the phone. I've had the 4.1.2 update for a week and so far I have not encountered any of the GPS issues I had on 4.1.1. I am hoping that continues to be the case as the issue before was very annoying.

Hopefully someone else can chime in and give their experience to see if it is working better for them too.

the only thing i have noticed is that in my motion settings. smart alert doesnt work anymore. So if i were to miss a call or text when I pick up the phone it doesnt vibrate anymore. Anyone else encounter this problem?
