WWas just curious... I'm looking into less-expensive but good phones like the OnePlus, Oppo, etc with my T-Mobile account, but I was curious if anyone had any insight into issues/fixes with doing this. I've seen a few issues where phones were purchsed that seemed to support the TMo networks, but were unusable or only connecte 3g (or worse), and want to make sure I don't do the same thing.

Thanks!

Before you purchase any of those phones, check whether they support the bands that T-Mobile is using. Particularly pay attention to whether they support the LTE bands.

OnePlus is now one of the "on brand" phones, and Oppo is getting there. The ones to watch out for are brands you never heard of (like the $49 10" tablets), or Chinese "S4s" for $150 or some other such "bargain". They usually don't have 4G radios and some of them don't even have 3G radios. And you'll never get an Android update or any data about them (or help with them, because no developer will have one to experiment on).

Why so? I've seen a great deal of good things about them, including here on AC. Why would it be a stay-away-from? Genuinely want to know, because it's been a front runner for some time in my mind.

I had the OnePlus One on T-Mobile for a few months and it worked great. I had no problems and got LTE service. The only reason I had switched was because at the time I had won an LG G3 and switched to that.

The lg g3 is a sweet phone. .....I say stay away from the one plus one because all of the Chinese phones are built with the crappiest parts...have no customer service...if u wanna buy their product, you have to get an invite? Stupid way of selling the product
