Many of these things come right off the same production lines as the ones that come on the phone. I suspect this, which I also have, is that same thing. My cover is so exact that it couldn't possibly be a knock off- just wouldn't be worth the cost of producing them if they weren't coming from the same place as OEM.

I also bought the gold just for the hell of it. Black is on its way, because the "Samsung" is just so much better than printed at&t logo.

It has the same slightly grippy feel of the black, but it's a tad different than the white.

I like the lack of carrier branding as well but I especially love the look and feel of the Samsung logo. It makes it look much more sophisticated than a simple printed logo. That was one of the reasons that I bought replacement backs for my GS3 as well.

Oh, and Soli, what color is your S5 on the front, black or white?



I understand the skepticism, but I've gone over every nano-meter of this cover and it is completely identical in details and materials to my original. There's no doubt in my mind that it's from Samsung. At the same time, though, I'm not planning on getting my phone wet, despite it's water-resistance. I'm not one to dunk my phone in a sink just because I can. I never got my water-resistant fitness bands wet either. I always air on the side of caution.

It was definitely a while back! As you know, I used to carrier-hop like crazy too, but since Verizon came to my area in 2007, I haven't looked back. I had a few phones/carriers (primarily AT&T and iPhones) on the side up until Verizon got the iPhone, at which point our relationship became exclusive.

I have it in black. Yes! I love the embossed Samsung logo.

Oh awesome, so yours is essentially the authentic blue S5 as Samsung sells it.

Apparently even if you do buy the Blue S5 model the front is black anyways. Not to mention I believe the gold model is also black on the front, but have a gold sides (though I never seen one idk)

Yeah, I'm not crazy about that puzzling decision either because, as you said, they've colored the phones in their entirety in the past. On the plus side, we can simply buy new OEM rear covers and have the authentic colored versions (or better, depending upon your preference).

That blue looks amazing with the white phone! I can tell by your keyboard cover that you are a blue fan but good choice. I love the sleek metallic look to it. Really makes the phone look a lot more expensive and sophisticated. Not having the carrier on the back just makes it look that much cooler too haha.
