It has shipped!!!!!!

What exactly are they screwing up? Verizon provided everyone a "ship by" date of either the 9th, 10th, or 11th. They've started shipping them early...not late mind you....early. Yet somehow because yours hasn't shipped yet, despite it not even being the 9th, Verizon is screwing this up?

People are getting upset because Verizon is not shipping the devices based on when you ordered it. Case in point someone that ordered on the 27th has gotten shipping info whereas someone who ordered on the first day has not received any notifications yet. Both of these cases are documented in this thread, had you given the time to read it you would have noticed that.
 
Does anyone else secretly hope they delay and don't release them for a few more weeks? Just to watch some people loose their minds.

Verizon Has over 100 million customers, their staff is spread across the entire country, they probably have call centers and shipping centers all over the place. Meaning not every call center rep is going to have up to the second secret details of some new phone that they're realeasing. They'll get here when they get here, they have some sort of shipping plan and it wasn't designed to screw you over personally.

Relax and go blow off some fireworks!

Thanks for being a smart$%^ and just assuming I didn't read. Don't get your panties in a bunch because your phone hasn't shipped and I'm not willing to cry over it with you.

My point still stands. They are shipping early! Everyone needs to calm down about the order they are doing it in. Nobody here has any insight whatsoever into the logistics of this roll-out. It's very possible that many factors are coming into play (order date, color, memory, stocking locations, region, stock levels, etc.).
 
I don't remember reading that they would ship them out in the order that the order is receive. My expectation is that I should see my phone on a FedEx truck by the July 11th "Ship by" date.
 
Well I figuer Ill add my case to the pile.

I ordered a 16 gig white GS3 on June 11th. My credit card was charged on Tue. July 3rd. I received my shipment notification email with tracking today July 4th. FedEx tracking number currently returns no information. Finally the Verizon Order Status page reveals a ship date of July 3rd.

I suspect it will arrive tomorrow or Friday. Im from southern NJ and VZW PA distro center is pretty close.

Thank you! Finally someone who gets it. With all the whining and sense of entitlement (from a select few) I started to think I was reading an iPhone forum.

the point is their process of filling preorders is disorganized to say the least, normally when preorders are filled they start with the first and proceed from there

unless people are lieing on this forum, which i doubt, they are really randomizing the preorder process. that is why i say VZW doesnt know how to do preorders :cool:

But you also have to keep in mind that they are likely shipping from multiple locations across the country. It isn't likely that they could skip from one location to the next just so that they can follow the precise order that the pre-orders were made. Their only obligation is to have your phone shipped to you by their promised shipping date.

A lot of people on here just need to exercise some more patience. Yes, I know you've been waiting for this phone for quite a while and I'd love to get it in my hands just as quickly as you all do. I've been using a 4 year old flip phone for the last 2 weeks since I sold my iPhone 4 and I'd love to have my S III show up early, but as long as it shows up by the 12th, I have no reason to complain as that's all I was promised.

I agree it's normal human reaction. I see someone get a shipment before myself but they preordered before me no concern. However someone who ordered after me it makes me wonder. The folks who ordered first should be done first.

What we really need is a statement from Verizon detailing their exact shipping process. Because if they do go in order and they start a pile then my order from 6:00:30 would be below yours at 6:04:15. Which means yours would be picked up before mine which isn't fair!!! But then again when loaded into the FedEx truck mine would then again be ontop nahnahnadudu! Oh crap they're going to unload the truck and I'll be at the bottom again :(!

WTF that's it I'm going to boost mobile!!! At least i wont need Prozac with them!

Glad you know how it should be done. I guess VZW is a newbie at this, they should hire you to run pre-orders for them.

Never remember seeing vzw do pre-orders by order date. Take chill pill. If you dont get your device two days after the ship by date then get upset.
 
Just be glad yours are even shipping. They have my order totally screwed up. I ordered at 7:01 on June 6th. On July 3 I got an email that my order was missing something. They ended up canceling it and then creating another one without the unlimited data.

I am supposed to take their word for it that it will all be fine. Now I see all kinds of phones shipping out and having ordered three phones in the first minute of pre-order, I can't even find out if my order is even correct.

I totally agree with all the people out there saying the Verizon doesn't know what the heck they are doing with pre-orders. How they dropped two of my 3 phones even though they had sent me a full confirmation email on 6/6 with everything listed is beyond me.

I better get some satisfaction from customer service tomorrow. I am starting to get really upset with this whole process.:mad:

Well then maybe Verizon should take a cue from Apple and learn how to handle preorders. Their ipad pre-order fulfillment was smooth as can be.
 
Actually, tell me exactly how they have screwed this up. There is maybe a few dozen people (out of 10's to 100's of thousands orders) with orders screwed up - usually with a credit card company that wouldn't approve the order because of fraud tracking (not Verizon's fault). Verizon told us when the pre-orders went in that the ship date would be July 9 - July 11 (the last time I checked this was the status for pre-orders). A lot of early orders are getting the phones shipped already (I have a shipping confirmation with a delivery date of July 9 - actually my expected original SHIP DATE). By the way, I'm on the West Coast and my warehouse is on the east coast so I'm not sure that Verizon has a ton of Regional Warehouses they are shipping from. And for the poster above talking about Apple having it together the same thing happened to the Verizon iPhone as far as being a pre-order and as orders piled up the delivery dates got backed u, too. Actually, I think we should all be thankful that Verizon was pushed (by TMo, Sprint and ATT releasing right away) to allow pre-orders before they wanted to (before the intro of their Share Everything Plan) and to release their first high end LTE phone (think Rezound, Nexus, Razr, Razr Maxx) at $199 rather than $299. I'm certainly thankful about the last two points (this is my last subsidized phone to keep unlimited).
 
Dang it. Just checked my order status again and Fed Ex now has it shipping on the 5th with delivery estimated on the 9th. Funny how I got the email on the 4th saying it shipped. It's like a preorder. It's a preship notice. WTH? Why even bother to send the email on the 4th??

Really? Could you not get it to me on Friday. Ugh. No one is home on Monday and it says due to come by 7pm. Thanks for that narrow window of delivery guys.

Well in one day my status of my s3 went from there was an error in my order.. to now i have an order and it will be shipped out on the 9th..guess ordering it at 720am i missed the 1st batch of phones that from this forum some should have their phone today or tomm..guess i will slow my role and wait it out

I guess I'll just sit here patiently and hope by some miracle that Best Buy gets their shipment in today and I get that email to come pick up my phones...:D

if i dont get it by 7/12, you will just tell me, "well you know it was a popular phone, Verizon did the best they could, waiting for the next batch to be manufactured will be better cause they will get to iron out any flaws in the first batch" /sarcasm off

Anyways, I'm just really amped to get this phone, and I figured the preorder process would go like any other. I didn't realize that Verizon picks names at random. Have a nice day. :)
 
well i ordered online and have heard nothing from verizon yet, cant believe they are screwing it up this bad......:-\

You did get an email confirmation after you placed your order?
Also was able to see that you order was in progress checking on the vzw site ?
Have you checked back on that vzw site to see if any changes since yesterday?
Hopefully not showing cancelled or couldnt find order.
Check Your Status - Verizon Wireless
If all above is good then should be getting some info soon.

BTW I am in NC as well
