It is a shame

I'm looking at one of these. Haven't seen any hint of a newer device from Huawei so... I wouldn't buy it with the expectation of Oreo but maybe? My N7 2013 is quite long in the tooth now and really.... I haven't seen anything else in an Android tablet that interests me. Going to see if I can find a Black Friday/cyber Monday deal especially since my wife's N7 is also a slug....
Special at Amazon/Newegg starting next Friday. $70 off the M3. https://www.phonearena.com/news/Huawei-announces-Black-Friday--Cyber-Monday-deals-in-the-US_id99929

Couldn’t pass on a deal for the M3 from NewEgg at $199 with thanks to dpham00 and Aljean Thein for the amazon matching price with no tax and an extra $20 off coupon. With a $25 rebate also from my credit card, that makes for an excellent $175 total cost out of pocket.

Like a lot of Nexus 7 owners, I was holding off waiting for Google to release a replacement, and that was not happening. I Had Huawei’s Google 6P phone and I was happy with that, so I kind of knew what I was buying into with the M3, but I was waiting for the reviews of the Lenovo Tab 4 Plus before making the leap. Hit a brick wall when Lenovo decided to send only the 2gb / 16GB version to the U.S and I wasn’t willing to import the 4gb / 64 gb version or spend the inflated ebay prices for one either, so the specs on the M3 and the price I got it for makes it a worthy successor to the N7 2013. Could probably even get $75 for the N7 on ebay as it’s in such good shape.

Only thing I have to figure out is the best way to transfer everything as there’s no NFC. Hopefully Google’s backup has come a long way. Did a good job when upgrading from the 6P to a Pixel XL, so fingers crossed.

Yes, purchasing the M3 was an impulse buy because of the price, but I genuinely believe it’ll make a good replacement for the Nexus 7 which has served me well for the last four years, but can get frustrating now and then on a performance level, so nice to join the ranks of M3 owners and I’m sure I’ll be posting now and then to the forum.

Great that we could've helped out.

The M3 is a great device. Especially for media. It's loud best for watching movies and listening to music as its intended

I haven't received Oreo either, but I read an article saying that the Honor 8 will be getting Oreo, the Honor 8 and the Mediapad M3 have the same chip, so there is a chance we could be getting it to.

*too
