It was a good five weeks!!!

They will send me one in four to five business days. Put a hold on my credit card for $500 if I don't return my phone. Not too bad.

No, it seems OK. Just keep on them and make sure you're refunded the money once you return the replacement and your original phone checks out.

I see if you buy directly from Moto, the insurance is only $130. And can replace it 3 times for 2 years.

I've had my phone since Nov 26th and I haven't dropped my phone except once on carpet. However I work at a glass factory and obviously that's one of the most dangerous places for a phone. I had a Cruzerlite case on it for awhile, but I invested in an i-Blason Armourbox and it's seemingly indestructible. Sure it's somewhat bulky, but it's protecting my investment. I've broken all of my phones leading up to this one so I'm determined to not let it happen again.

The i-Blason Armour Box is one of the cases I'm considering for the Nexus 6. Is it easy to install and remove from the phone? I don't mind a little bulk if it offers maximum protection.

I actually have that case. I use it a work. Not off duty. Thus I broke the case at home without the case. Genius!

Interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong... If your original device is in need of repair, you send it in and Motorola sends you a replacement unit while your original device is being repaired within a designated time frame. While using the replacement unit, a hold is placed on your credit card. Then, you return the replacement unit once your original device is in hand. Failure to return the replacement device will incur a full charge to your credit card. Does that cover it? If so, that's not a bad option.

I haven't used it, but my understanding is that you get the advance replacement, they get back the original, and provided it isn't determined to be non-warranty issue (i.e., run over by car, water damage, etc), you're done - no need to deal with them sending it back to you after repair and your shipping the replacement back again.

Back when Palm was around, they had the same advance replacement policy. They would sent you a replacement in advance, as soon as you received it, you'd send your old phone back. The credit hold was like 5 days as long as you sent the old phone back immediately.
