It's been 2 days and it seems no one has received the OTA update.

Nothing here either not that I'm bothered. I have KitKat on my nexus 5 and its not much to write home about TBH. Why is it so fiddly to sideload the update. Surely someone must have come up with an app that can automate the updating or am I overestimating the capabilities of the android fan base.

There's the Nexus Root Toolkit that makes a lot of it button pushing, but still have to download the file as a zip and put it somewhere, not sure exactly how it works but it's a GUI instead of using the command prompt yourself.

I thought Google could come up with a self executable file that just needs downloading and then the user can decide when to install.
That way you don't need to be logged onto servers like the OTA update. The file just needs to check for compatibility and then install the OS.

I wonder what the bugs could be. Must be pretty major to make Google delay a release

I haven't heard of any bugs (aside from people who have no idea wondering aloud if there are some.) I'm wondering if they've just sold that many Nexus 7's, that it takes a long time to stage the update out to them all. I'll admit I'm getting a bit antsy/disappointed that the OTA hasn't come to my N7 yet, but it's not that revolutionary, and it's not like we're talking about weeks or months of delay, but days, pushing a week. In the scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal.

Not a big deal!!??!?!? Have you lost your mind!?!?!?!?!?

Kidding.

Rumour has it that the delay has got to do with security bugs perhaps. Lol how are these things not tested before release? /_\

Where are you hearing the rumor? I've noticed that many "rumors" are nothing more than a few people thinking "out loud" on forums like this, and then people pick up on it (usually either due to hope or fear) and spread the rumor, when there's no actual evidence.

Got my 2013 OTA on my WiFi N7 today (Seattle). Weird getting the update as I had already sideloaded it days ago.

Yeah ur right, they are actually unconfirmed and with little backing. Will just have to sit tight

Thanks for the article. I'm more interested in Google's getting it right than getting Kit-Kat right now. The focus on successive models for the rollout also seems logical.

The writer's comments in the second linked article about bad audio are a tad unsettling, though. I'm hoping that Kit-Kat fixes the USB audio issues in 4.3.

My N7's at work, so I'll have to see whether it updates when I get there.

i wonder what those bugs they discovered would be...
given they find it more important to "small fix" the already 4.4 devices than to update to 4.4 the devices stuck to 4.3, this must have been quite a security issue...
