It's here and now I decided to pass

Never used a stock launcher, touchwiz, blur, blah, sense.....
48 hours with the One and thinking it's the best Android phone to date. Yes, I've had most of the top phones (Nexus, Galaxy, DNA, etc.).
Like a lot about the Moto X but cannot imagine going back to 720 and **** poor camera. Why would anyone want that?

after experiencing stock android on a GN and N4, I think I'm going to go with the Moto X.
Why not a Droid Ultra, way thinner than the Moto X.
I should add that I really wanted the all metal phone.
You could always load a Google Edition ROM onto the Verizon One...
I can't imagine giving up my One, ever. I will use this One as an mp3 player FOREVER.
Thought you'd pick a device with a bit more storage... :P

I own 100gb of music. The only mp3 player that can hold that much is an iPod classic, and they're a ton of money, or I could stick a giant hard drive into my iPod 5g, and hack the O/S so I didn't have to use iTunes, but that at least $150...so the One with Google Music, it is! Not to mention that the One sounds better than my iPod through my car speakers.

Cowon.

Most Cowon players aren't exactly the most user friendly devices.
There's also a lot of reports of 64 bit OS's screwing one of them up really badly.

I have a COWON C2 with a micro 64GB SD card loaded with FLAC music. The Wolfson DAC makes sound quality amazing. I've never had trouble with my 64 bit computer.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use your phone, but sound quality is much better in the Cowon. Though, the new LG G2 may have a quality DAC, not sure what its but its promising.

I wish the HTC one REALLY was ALL metal but its not. If the exterior were really all metal and glass I'd be much more likely to have one. Even so, the black version is still quite attractive.

I really wish the S4 was all metal too. (Actually I don't, I hate touchwiz)

It's like buying a Ferrari later finding out it's made of tinfoil.

I am not a fan of Samsung because of their terrible signal performance and AMOLED screen. But quite honestly, I don't understand the complaints about the S4 build materials. I think they are just fine, it keeps the phone light and it is less prone to damage. Drop an HTC One next to an S4 and see what happens.

The S4 is lighter than the HTC One, has a bigger screen and a bigger battery. Heck, the S4 is only 18 grams heavier than the iPhone 5...an inch bigger screen and nearly double the battery.

Well, the One's screen has better color reproduction and I think its brighter. Is the black anodizing pretty durable?

I'm not sure but Ive read that the black HTC one is less prone to scratches than the black iPhone 5.

Cheap plastic. lower real world user reviews. lag. s3 clone. loaded with silly gimmicky software.
does it really matter. it's still a top notch phone.!

I think I may go "rent" a black One for 13 days. Just to be less ignorant. If I like and prefer it...who knows....

I understand we all look at cost differently. However, I bought a used 160g iPod Classic for $80. I hardly call that expensive.

Seriously you are used to the S4 and prolly won't like the HTC ONE unless there is something you are looking for that you don't like about the S4... I looked real hard at the S4 and in store it shows great. however. iv only owned HTC so I know it's what I want. good luck n keep us posted!

Perhaps. However, folks say the screen is much better, there's no lag, and that it just seems higher quality. I want to see if I agree with that after having used it for a while. I think the return fee is only $35 so it's not too much.

No, that's actually a great price. I hadn't thought about that for some reason, lol.
