It's June. ICS any day now!

What is the best ICS install for Rezound? Not sure I like the version I installed. What I want is to get rid of all the Verzion bloatware, this on still has it all.

I have HTC Rezound 3.14.605.5 Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 Firmware

The bad news - all of the leaks have the Verizon bloatware on them.

The good news - you can disable the bloatware and it is as good as gone. It will no longer run in the background or even show up in your app tray. No Fuss, no muss.

Thanks for the quick response.

Would it be easy to point me at how to disable apps like Blockbuster and Slacker. They are running all the time, not sure what they do or if they hurt.

That's the latest and greatest. Just flash the RUU twice, then disable the bloatware apps when you're on ICS.

In settings>applications (similar menu setup was found under manage applications in GB), select any app, if it can be disabled it will say disable, press the disable button, easy as that(it used to be uninstall/uninstall updates tab in GB settings).

Thanks again, I've done this already and was unsure if this was the correct procedure.

Very much appreciated.

You know what the cure for that is right..?? Load the 605.5 leak, unlock, drop one of the very loverly (yes that's spelled right) Rezound ROMs on your phone and forget that you were ever on anything other than ICS

But i have heard that the ICS builds are flaky (not in the good way) for bluetooth and some other issues

Flaky has a good way? Are you referencing, VZ leak candidates or customs? I haven't heard that bluetooth wasn't working in any leak builds? Almost every other ICS/3.6 custom I used was fully functional, many above 100% when added features are in play. All roms are works in progress but most devs get the kinks ironed out in short order. Quicker than many official candidates, so it seems. Bluetooth & animations are really the lone standouts, as far as timeframe fixes go. Those 2 are the only negative aspects I find common to roms, generally speaking. Then again that may be b/c I don't jump on fresh ports till the issues get hashed out a bit.

So I'm getting a general feeling from all the posts so far that the update isn't rolling out yet? It's probably set for 11:59:59pm.

Yes flaky has a good way if you are talk pastries an pies. Talking about Customs I don't remember where i was where a guy said a dev was having issues with bluetooth... i'll see if i can find it.

Verizon said that they plan to start rolling it out in the Grand Rapids area tonight. Keep refreshing that status update on your phone and let us know.

If anything, it was probably a Sense 4 ROM or CM9.

If the time frame is given by a tech company is June-July, the tranlation is late June at the earliest, and, hopefully before the end of July at the worst. I would not expect the update to happen within the next 2-3 weeks.

So here is the topic i was referrig to the guy that posts # 16 referrs to the Sense 4 builds having bluetooth issues

That's sense 4 roms. 3.6 roms have no issues that I know of and I am on one. Plus I was on the stock latest week for 2 weeks with zero issues with Bluetooth or otherwise.

O and some sense 4 roms have fixed or are fixing bluetooth

You don't need to look, it's a common trait, it wasn't working on the last custom ICS rom I uded. Almost all customs have issues w/ Bluetooth upon release. It's the long standing achilles heel of many new roms. Devs usually get them back on track before long, though.

Or any week now. Or any month now. As long as they stay true to the June-July schedule with the potential 45 day rollout. Otherwise it could be any year now. :)

T-minus 45 days and counting... at which time, we'll reset the timer and start counting again :p

I've come to the conclusion (theory) that Verizon has the updates ready and approved, but is releasing them in batches.
This week, Nexus and the Xoom (so called developer devices) received ICS (update on the Nexus, close enough), as they rightfully should. I suspect the next batch of devices will be those on the Droid line. Meaning Razr, Razr Maxx, Droid 4, and Bionic.
Oh, but you saw Moto's list of devices to receive ICS and noticed it said Q3 for Droid 4? Well, we better hope that means HTC gets to go before Moto.

I missed this followup post, from yesterday. I'm not sure why bluetooth is such a tough hurdle for devs but it's often a given when dealing w/ new, beta roms(like those). If you're considering using any of the Sense 4 roms and bluetooth is a lynchpin for you, sit tight. Just check back on the status every few days. They get bug fixes, updates & patches all the time until they are solid daily drivers. So rest assured bluetooth will be usable on most in the very near future. I'm not a big user of bluetooth, unlike many of you, so that's not a big role player in my personal rom selections. I can see how that would be a huge factor for others, right now, though.

Another week starts tomorrow. Could it be this week?
