I've got an HTC One (M8), you have questions. Fire away.

Re: I've got an M8, you have questions. Fire away.

Also: I forget who asked, but yes, Zoes still record frames for a second or so before you press (and hold) the shutter. You need to hold the shutter to get this to happen, though. And if you just take a single photo in Zoe mode it'll discard the frames before you started shooting.
Thanks for that! So even if you record a longer Zoe, like 30 seconds or so, you can still scrub thru them as if they were individual frames, including the ones before you hit the shutter?

Does the mail app show flagged mails correctly when using EAS (Exchange Active Sync) accounts like Outlook. com or corporate ones? Right now you can flag a mail on the app but it won't show in Outlook's website as flagged. The same occurs the other way around.

Thanks again!

I think they should have keep it the way it was. Enabling Zoe mode and then pressing the shutter once to record a 3-sec video with stills. Having to hold the shutter button detracts from usability.

Adding the "keep pressing" to record a video instead should have been the only change to that IMHO.

Quick question here that I don't think has been asked yet. Does the dialer on the HTC One integrate the new Google dialer introduced in Kit Kat?

Nope. It's HTC's dialer. Which isn't to say it's bad. Just different than Google's.

I have an M8 and cannot figure out how to take zoes. Don't see it in the camera and the app says coming soon. Any info?

Edit: was an issue with the themer launcher not properly loading the camera.

Phil you may have covered this, but will the GPE and DE editions work unconditionally with T-mob, or what will the deficiencies be?

thanks,

Aaron

I can confirm phone calls work on the HTC One (M8) :P

Good to know! Thanks! I was just concerned HTC had cut out the basic phone functions to save on costs since it hadn't been mentioned in any review. ;)

Beats is no more. And I have no idea if the US gets the earbuds.

I got it day one (VZW - shush you!) US does come with earbuds. I haven't tried them though as I already have some nice sets.

I did read a review yesterday that said they were good, but I prefer better. :-D

Does anyone know if wifi-direct works natively without having to download an app like superbeam to transfer files? I currently have the Note 2 and wifi-direct does not work between my note and my wifes One(m7).

Does anyone have the AT&T version? I know it comes with the ISIS ready sim. Does Google Wallet still work?

Yes you can use Google wallet as the default.

Does the M8 have the thing that enabled you to record in loud environments (like concerts)? I remember the M7 had this feature (and was subject to some patent issues between HTC and Nokia).

Does M8 have a FM transmitter by which you can play music directly through your car system speakers like Nokia N8 used to have? And also please confirm if Beats Audio is still there or not!!

Beats Audio branding is not present.

The speakers are better from what everybody is being posting already and there's also confirmation that it has a headphone amplifier built-in just like the M7 which is one of the things any smartphone should have as it makes such a difference in audio quality and volume power.

I haven't tried wifi-direct as of yet but I have beamed stuff from my old one to my new one without an issue and I'm not sure if it has changed but one reason you may be having problems is Samsung has there native beam software I believe it is called S-beam and if that is on you will have problems beaming to another non-samsung phone. Try making sure S-beam is turned off on your Note and see what happens.

Well AFAIK, i guess the background color changes according to the time, during daytime it will be white and during nights it will be dark. Its like that for the analog clock widget!

That would be nice if that was the case. Instead it stays black at all times.

Re: I've got an M8, you have questions. Fire away.

At the launch they said Extreme Power Saver is "coming soon". Power Saver should be there though (it is in my T-Mo M8).

I have to know, do the headphones come with the T-Mobile version? I think I remember last year they were the only carrier to exclude it and I'm not sure why. Really frustrating.

Anyone from the UK missing the extreme power saving mode in settings?

Looked everywhere through settings, quick settings and does not exist on my phone and I'm using the latest update available.

Since I haven't seen this confirmed or denied in this thread: Is the notification LED inside the speaker grill again? This made the notifications barely readable on the M7.
