I've got the EVO - ask me anything!

Hi Phil,

Can you confirm that your Evo 4G LTE has "data-tapping" with menus? Or are particular data sets defaulted to their basic uses? eg: data tapping numbers go to dialer, hyperlinks to webpages, etc...

What's "data-tapping?" The basic explanation doesn't make sense to me.

I think the real question here is Phil violating the law when he data taps and can we expect his arrest and prosecution soon?

Wow, phone must not be as cool as we thought, no more updates. Either that, or everyone's in the "I hate Apple because my phone is stuck in customs" thread. :)

Actually, the phone is probably now more in demand because of this whole fiasco. I think the lack of updates is more about making sure that new information given is accurate.

Probably correct. I know I'm looking even more forward now to receiving mine when the situation ends.

Still, it would be nice to live precariously through Phil until then. HEY PHIL, WAKE UP. :)

Im wondering if Phil was raided by a special operative to relieve him of his EVO 4G LTE.

I know the feeling :) It hurts even more when I saw that he had 2 Evo 4G LTE phones in his recent video review.

Hey Phil (or anyone else who might know):

I have a question regarding the HTC Media Link HD. Say you connect it to your TV and are watching a movie using Netflix. Does the screen and sound on your phone remain on? In other words say I am sitting in my living room watching the movie, what do I do with my phone? Obviously I would want it plugged in and charging, but will does the video and audio still have to play through the phone as well as the TV?

Once you queue up whatever you're watching you can do whatever you want with your phone. It does not have to continue displaying the media.

PHIL ill keep it simple. Play some music via something other than Music (lets say gmusic). Open maps and get directions to somewhere. Follow directions to place then switch to your music player. Switch back to maps and see if the directions are gone?

and you know how the latest firmware (htx one x international) was 1.29.401.7 well theres a newer update to 1.29.401.11 and supposedly it fixes some of the multitasking agressiveness.

Sometimes I wonder if people do some research on things before they post...There has been a video up on YouTube for weeks on the HTC MediaLink and how it works...Get with the times FELLA!!!

Can we get some confirmation on whether the phone supports SVDO? That is, can it do SIMULTANEOUS voice and 3G data?

Internal testing documents from Sprint say it does, as well as FCC docs... The LG Viper on Sprint can already do this (as well as several HTC phones on Verizon), so its not unheard of. It seems like kind of a huge feature to have gone unnoticed by reviewers thus far tho!

It'd be awesome if it can, one less thing to envy from GSM...
