I've got the EVO - ask me anything!

Quick question, one thing i hated with my og evo is how long it took from phone off to actually being able to make a phone call.
my question is how long does it take from power off to phone call?
sorry if asked/answered already.

The camera sounds are cool, but I really need to turn them off. I can't figure out how to do it. Have you?

The only way I can find to do it is to turn the ringer volume all the way down to mute. Easy to do while in the camera app and then turn it back up when you're done.

So, it doesn't support USB hosting?

I thought any Honeycomb and above device supported it.

If it's running stock Android, changes to the kernel and ROM can impact that tho. I remember custom kernels eventually adding this to the EVO 3D tho, so hopefully history repeats itself.

It's like 15 seconds when the phone was fresh from the factory.

That's impressive, the EVO 3D takes for-freaking-ever when not using fastboot... Maybe the EVO LTE's just using fast boot by default and/or always since the battery isn't removable. I hope the option to disable is still there tho.

So far all seem very good, but I seem to have a charging issue. When I charge it up, it goes to 99% but never gets to 100% even though I leave it in the charge mode or a long time. The indicator stays RED. I think it should go to green when at 100% like my old EVO 4G.

This was a concern with my NS4G early on. It never goes above 95 or 96. As I understand it, this is intentional as some sort of safeguard against damaging the battery or something to that effect. I don't know exactly, but I'm sure someone in here knows. Not sure if that is what yours is doing, but it doesn't really phase me anymore.

I realize this isn't exactly the same issue, but have you tried a "bump charge"? Perhaps that will "calibrate" the charging light.

Yes, you can. Go under SETTINGS (found on the task bar), then MOBILE NETWORK settings, then NETWORK MODE and select CDMA only instead of LTE/CDMA.

Sorry guys, I'm not gonna go through this entire forum to see if someone posted this. While in your messaging app you can pinch to zoom and change the font size. Just a little perk in Sense 4, I haven't found any other way to do that other then the settings of course.

a few questions/problems

I noticed on bluetooth in my car (caddy 2011 SRX) it keeps connecting and disconnecting.
I have rebooted the phone turned off the car paired them several time but it still does it.
AM I missing something?

I keep getting a popup message that tells me I need to set the time zone?
I set it and then it come again later.

Latsly.sometimes I notice the phone says 4G. I live i central NJ. what is it connecting to?
am I really on 4G?

thanks

If it's asking for a time zone you might have turned off the setting that that grabs the time automatically from the network... Or that 4G tower might still be experimental and it's throwing the phone off.

No 4G towers here (Detroit and Delaware so far), but my EVO LTE keeps asking for a time zone set. My Date & Time setting is set to use network-provided time zone...

I use Astro File Manager.

I also use Astro File Manager. However, ICS makes it kind of difficult since you have to access "sdcard2" instead of what we are all used to. Select the up arrow twice until you are in the / folder. Then select the sdcard2 folder and you should see your traditional file hierarchy.

Some apps may require you to load OI File Manager to use files on sdcard2.

HELLLLLLPPPPP!

I upgraded my original Evo 4g yesterday for the 4G LTE. Was happy until I tried to download music from a free mp3 music download app IN the google play app store.

With the original 4g, I was able to download direct from app into music file on phone.

With the 4g LTE, I have discovered that i cannot download music from the same app. I can only share with others, or just play the music....but I CAN'T DOWNLOAD INTO MY MUSIC FILE. I have searched all over trying to find resolution to this, or a way to bypass Sprint Music, Pandora, Iphone, Rhapsody, etc. etc. I even had someone try and bluetooth a song to me and it took me to Amazon apps to buy the song.

ANYONE out there experiencing the same thing....or can assist with explaining if HTC is blocking all music apps besides certain approved one????

Thank you!!
