I've got the new Moto X, you've got questions. Fire away!!!

Not much sense in being able to bypass the lock with voice, right?

My 2013 Moto X would ask for my PIN or password to unlock. That only happens when I'm in the car so I don't know if that option is part of car mode or not, but theoretically it could work.

I don't have one. :)

But when I did have hands-on, it was very new, so no wear yet. I don't see why [leather] wouldn't hold up just as well as a wallet or purse.

My concern is that it may become detached and peel off.

Phil, might we see the official Android Central Moto X review sometime this weekend?

question regarding moto display...

there are 3 last notifications displayed on screen, but what happens if there are more then three missed notifications, and I read one of them on moto display?
does other (unread) notification take place of that read, or it is showed only two notifications then?

thanks

Question about that dimple, other than a 'landing spot for your finger.' Does it serve any function in stabilizing the curve-backedphone when placed on a flat surface? Does this phone rock or spin too easily if placed on a smooth flat surface?

In the mostly positive Gizmodo review it is reported that the device sometimes produces lag ("Flick around home screens or inside the app drawer, however, and the Moto X produces some noticeable lag and stutter. It won't ruin the phone for you or anything, but it definitely shouldn't be there.").
Phil, do you notice that too?

I know this has been asked a few times, and I don't think I've seen an answer, but will the new Moto X support wifi calling? Planning on switching to TMobile US soon, and this is one of the things I'd want/need.

I have no way of knowing first hand but honestly I wouldn't worry about it. There were these reports all over last year with the Moto X 2013 and it really wasn't true at all. I mean any phone can "lag" also people perceive lag differently sometimes. Truth be told, Motorola is doing it ala Nexus not Samsung or LG, therefore I'm sure it's as smooth as Android gets at this point in time. Heck the dual core processor was out performing better spec phones. Let's not forget that Moto is good at optimization also. How do you know the reviewer wasn't a iphone fan boy? Just sayin you never know. I may not count though because in now a Motorola fan boy lol. I wouldn't have got to be if their phones were slow though because that's a biggie to me. Maybe Phil can help clarify.

Don't think so. Since it is not going to be sold through T-Mobile there won't be WiFi calling. My guess.

I have many androids including the Galaxy S4. I do like android but this February I got an iPhone 5C and I fell in love so yes I'm team iphone, but from your android user POV, how do you see iPhones? Just curious

Is there a compelling reason to shell out $499.00 USD for the 16g version when a 64g One Plus One can be had for $350.00? Likewise, what does it do $150.00 better than an N5? My head is scratching on the X 2014, just dont see it, at least as an unlocked purchase.
Dude i totally agree.

I don't agree because the reason I'm getting Moto X is the touchless controls. That's my main draw over the Nexus 5/X. I currently have the nexus 4 and I use the google now feature so much whether it's setting notes, sending text messages, setting alarm, reminders etc.... I always wish I didnt have to power up the phone to get to those options. Now I'll be able to just say Ok google or whatever phrase I want to activate it.

I see iphones as a mean of providing user experience and desirable style to consumers who are effectuated with a popular tech line. You can never go wrong with an iPhone because it just works, and it can provide great resell value later on. However, the android system provides more freedom to phones, and can provide many different types of phones to choose from. Some phones are better than others, but overall it all boils down to the user's choice. I, myself, find Motorola as a great phone producer who innovates and provides great product lines. If you do have a chance, give the moto x a try just to see what I mean. The first gen of the moto x has redefined how I use the phone on a daily basis and I am unsure if I will ever go back to a different phone.

If you want to shell out a couple hundred extra for that single feature, I respect that even if I dont get it.
