I've got the Samsung Galaxy S III, ASK ME QUESTIONS!

From the videos I've seen of S Voice, it seems like it has some good functionality. I just wish it had more of a personality... and some of Siri's responses lol. xD

What's the deal with S voice?

Anything cool, or just another voice gimmick? Any cool commands?

How does it compare to Siri (features and reliability)

Alex, all your answers here are very much appreciated.

My question is a simple one, on my epic 4G touch, in the phone log, many times the phone defaults to all log, which includes text messages, when all I really want to see are voice calls. No matter how many times I hit the menu button and switch to "all voice calls", as soon as I get some texts, they are included in the log too. Does the GS3 have the same issue?

thanks for answering the questions :-)

do you know the differents about performance, autonomy, etc between the version 1Go (4 cores) and the 2Go with 2 cores ?
thanks
Nope. We don't have the 2GB version in-house to test.
for the first time ever I held a galaxy sII and really really liked it. How does the feel of the 2 compare?
Both are very fast. The S III is a worthy upgrade over the S II.
Alex,
I wanted to thank you for the reply yesterday, you did a fabulous job! I am stuck with a Miserable Motorola Atrix2, that is stuck with a miriad of difficulties, and am currently planning to dump it. The Display is stunning on the A2 and the Audio Output is awesome.
I would like to qualify my query to you, I have a sensory Hearing defect, and also had Cataract Surgery in both eyes. The Volume Output of the Atrix 2 is probably the Loudest of any device I have heard, also the display is stunning to say the least.
I was looking at the Note and the OneX. The Display on the OneX is incredible to say the least, but Im not sure of the Audio, and the Displays at AT&T are tethered, so its hard to get a good sampling of audio. It seemed like the OneX was substantially less in Audio Output compared to the Atrix2.
I was hopeful that maybe you could inform me on the comparison to the GS-3 and the Atrix2, Call Audio and speakerphone, including Music Player Output.
I am sorry for PM'ing you, hope you can answer me. You answered the question about the display, I had the Note next to a OneX, wow what a difference, I can only assume its similiar to the GS-3 and OneX.
Im still scratching my head as to why No SD Card or Removable back, but AT&T has a habit of making radical changes to Great Phones here in the US.
I thank you for your timme, I like reaging your reviews and comments, keep up the great work.
Cheers and Beers! Thank you!
Larry
Thanks for the feedback. Couple of things to consider here -- the S III has a very loud external speaker, but the One X has better daylight visibility. Ultimately it's up to you to choose which is more important.
Your personal opinion: S3 or One X?
No idea. We'll have an article on this in the weeks ahead.

Gimmick. Same issues as Siri; it's not reliable often enough to be of any real use to me.

Alex, i have a iphone 3GS, would you say the phone feels similar to the 3GS or does it have more of a smoother and rounder feel?

Thanks.
A little bit slicker than the 3G/3GS. Both have plastic backs, although the S III uses polycarbonate with a glossy finish.

Does the S3 use MTP or the old traditional USB storage
MTP.

Same issue on the S III I'm afraid. The option resets itself after the Dialer app is closed.

I heard that the wallpapers are all static when you scroll.
Will third party launchers bring back the wallpaper panning as you scroll through home screens?

Can you hold it back to back with a GNex (or other phone that uses the stock Android Beam feature) and see if S Beam is compatible?

@Alex Dobie, first of all, thanks!

I have more of a question about an S3 accessory than the phone itself, the C-Pen. How does the Samsung Galaxy 3 compare with the Samsung Galaxy Note?

For the (very) little bit that I have read about the C-Pen, it does not seem to differ much in terms of functionality from the S-Pen. If that is the case, and the S3 supports the "doodling" and handwriting functionality of the G-Note, then it would seem that the S3 is an upgrade to the G-Note. A slightly smaller upgrade but an upgrade nonetheless.

So I am interested in how the S3 compares to the G-Note, especially the C-Pen (although it is an accessory to the S3 and not "Built-in") and the S-Pen.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you Alex for answering all our questions even if some of us ask silly ones too.

In order to decide for a device even the silly questions are important as well.

I live in the UK and been holding out on buying the ONE X just to see what the GS III will be like and have a question. Does the phone have heating problems when playing games for a long time or when doing heavy multitasking? I know all the new phones have some sort of heat after using the phone to play games or use GPS but its nice to know how the S III compares. Summer is here as well hopefully it doesn't heat to be uncomfortable.

Can't wait for the AC review :)

Thanks.

Can you surf the web, and talk on the phone at the same time over 3G?

While you're on Wifi, definitely. Otherwise it depends on the carrier. I believe on AT&T and T-Mobile you can, because they use GSM. On Sprint and Verizon you can't because of their use of CDMA.

Just thought of a couple more questions.

1. Since we are running Touchwiz here, do we still have to create a folder and then dump apps into it, or, since we are running ICS, can we just put one app over the other and it will create a folder itself?

2. Since we are on the topic of folders, can you have a folder in the dock?

The Evo lte on Sprint can do it over 3G, so I hope the S3 can do it too.

You still have to create a folder first.

As someone who's coming from Blackberry, how is the led notification light? Customizable at all?

thanks! :)

I've got a question: when is mine arriving? Carphonewarehouse took my £500 3 weeks ago and now tell me it won't be here until the 19th of June at the earliest. That'll be 5 weeks they have had my money and I'd get it at the same time if I ordered it now. Should have left the money in my account.

Does it get blue stains like the One X? Lol :p And do you have a pebble? Does it work nicely?

I know this is what they say about the iPhone. ATT even featured commercials touting the surfing and talking at the same time.
