I've had it after only a month! Moving on to Pixel 2 or LG V30 when they come out

I will switch to the Pixel XL 2 only if it has some kind of IP cert. It is nice not having to worry about being splashed giving my kids a bath or keeping my phone dry at the pool. That and S Pay are the two big reasons I am keeping my S8 unless the PXL2 blows me out of the water.

Go into Advance Settings and turn off Finger Sensor Gesture.

I'm left handed, thought the S8 fingerprint scanner would be a huge inconvenience with my left index finger. It turns out just the opposite. I couldn't imagine trying to unlock with my right hand index finger. I feel for the OP.

I'm left handed also but I always hold the phone in my right hand and my index finger is situated just right for the FPS.

That didn't even cross my mind. I am left handed and actually have no problem finding the FPS. At least that part of this whole experience is fine.

I try to be a responsible forum participant so here's an update...

For no apparent reason, my fingerprint sensor works a lot better now. It started a little over a week ago, nowhere near any Samsung update.

I don't think I have done anything to change the physical structure of my fingertips.

I'm more accepting of the phone now but I need this to continue for several more weeks to make me a believer.
