The 4747 number is a FedEx number, not a Motorola number.

Yep! I thought I would get further along talking with FedEx as opposed to Motorola. Other people on this thread are saying that Motorola just throws their hands up in the air saying it's not their problem since the phones are in FedEx's possession.

My phone has been sitting in Memphis since 2:30am Friday morning at the FedEx hub, so it seemed fruitless to contact Motorola about it until I hear back from FedEx as to the reason for such a long delay.
 
Given all these issues with delivery can anyone share their experience with returns? Are they prompt with refunded credit cards etc ?

FedEx explains that the shipment is in bulk, and only Motorola can present he required documents to clear customs. Here is Motorola's response as of 9/29 8:51EST.

Still in Memphis. You'll know it left TN when it says "Departed FedEx Location" as shown in my image from 9/22 at 3:07

This is my current package. Since it's so early in the morning, it may actually depart tonight and be available for delivery on Monday. A day early from the estimated Tuesday delivery. Which sucks because I took off.

UPDATE

As I predicted based on my 1st shipment, my 2nd package departed Memphis Tuesday morning at 2:39am. Arrived in NY 3 hours later, was out for delivery and now delivered to my job.
 
So after talking to them again and elevating the to speak with a manager again at Motorola they informed me that
on 9/21 or 9/22 (they were vague about the date) there was a holiday at the plant where the phone are made and mine was never processed WTF.
So I told them to cancel my order completely, I've been dealing with their shenanigans for the past few day and the fact they are just now telling me this set me off.
 
I just talked to Fed Ex and if your phone was one of those stuck in customs since early Friday morning, you won't be getting your phone today. Sucks because other shipments have cleared.
 
Geez! I've been off-line for a week on my vacation and things haven't gotten any better. The first one I ordered on 9/2 and canceled still shows an estimated shipping date of 9/15. The second one I ordered on 9/20 was supposed to arrive on 9/30 but I just got an e-mail from Motorola saying it's delayed and that it will come on 10/8 instead. At least this time they are communicating.
 
well, I'll go ahead and join the conversation... I just ordered mine on Sept 25 and have an estimated delivery date of Oct 5. That seems a little quick from what I'm reading on here. We'll see. (its my first android phone... coming from a windows mobile phone)
 
I got mine today. I ordered completely customized, Moto said, 2 October, and it was in Memphis by Friday. Good luck everyone!

Wow can't believe it's still sitting in clearance delay from Friday early morning. Wtf Moto I'm for sure returning back the device after I order the Nexus today.

I ordered my replacement on 9/22. Motorola gave me estimate of 10/2. FedEx gave today's estimate of delivery and it was delivered on time.
I got mine today. I ordered completely customized, Moto said, 2 October, and it was in Memphis by Friday. Good luck everyone!

How long does it usually take to be "being built"?
I ordered 32GB and it took about 2 days for it to be built. I've read that 64GB's have delays. 16GB is probably quick like the 32GB.
 
I just got off the phone with Motorola about my order.
I initially got the same boilerplate "we are working with our partners" response.
Once the call was escalated to a manager it turns out the invoice was never sent to FedEx. And this was last Thurs/Friday.
This sounds like a complete failure of their shipping process. They weren't able to give me a hard date on the clearance but said that someone would be calling back.

I'm not sure I want to give them my money anymore.

I also ordered mine on 9/22 but why is mine delayed until 10/12 and you already got your phone? I don't understand this mess from Motorolla. I wonder if my order didn't process just like Vortex00.

I cancelled the order and I'm supposed to hear back today about when Ill be refunded my money. For the record I'm not bashing Motorola product but shipping/ordering leaves a lot to be desired. I may wait and just get it off amazon with 2 day shipping

So I'm on the phone with Mumbai right now and they are clueless as to why the order is delayed. They read out the email that was sent to me. I think my phone is in the same situation as yours, does that mean it was lost in the process or eventually will be made? I'm confused.

So they said that some items are unavailable for customization that's why it's delayed but didn't give me the specific items. When I put in the order, they didn't tell me anything was delayed.

Vortex00 - can you tell me what your customized phone looks like? back color, accent, etc...

Likewise, I got a call back from FedEx saying that correct documentation was not sent with that particular batch of phones, so that's why the delay in the first place. FedEx has contacted Motorola to get the proper paperwork, but Motorola seems to be dragging their feet as no other batch of phones have spent this much time in customs. I was given no new information about possible delivery times, so I'm just stuck in limbo. It would just be nice to have a new phone. I'm ready to throw my old and slow Galaxy S3 out the window...
