Did you 6P Arrive on time?

The thing here is that you're paying extra money so that the 3rd party that handles the shipping gets it to you faster once your package is no longer in Google's hands and not for Google to cherry pick your order and process orders faster. So, let's say you ordered two of the exact same Nexus phones at the same time, but only paid for faster shipping on one. The two phones would leave the warhorse on the same day, but the faster shipping one should be deceived to you first.

In theory that's what should happen. However it seems like lower storage size phones are shipping out now. I ordered minutes after the link went live, so far my phone has been pending for the last two weeks. I'm hoping it goes out early, I'm doubtful though.

But as far as I can tell the ones with free shipping went out days before the ones with next day shipping the last couple years. Which made many of the phones show up on the same day.

But again, unless the orders were placed at the same time, are the exact same model and have both the same origination and destination address, you can't really compare ship and delievery times. I work with FedEx packages everyday and have been for over 5 years now. You would be very surprised to find out what they defined their time frames as.

I selected the free shipping method as I personally only think of FedEx or UPS as just a better way to track packages. Other than that, for the most part, the drivers have to drive the same routes to and from the airports, use the same airports, then both have to go to a local distribution center where they're put on trucks and go out for delivery. The driver's route might change a little, but I don't expect a whole lot of time being saved to get from point A to point B.

That's how I see it anyways.... But yeah, the ONLY way to really compare is if you have two orders of the same model, placed at the same time and used on shipping method for one phone and the other shipping method for the other phone.

He kind of had a point, but did not express it in the most positive way. Google for some rhyme or reason does not follow the first come first served model. For example, most people who ordered on day 1, if your storage size was larger than 32 GB your phone is not shipping out until later in the week. From what I have seen, most of the orders that have gone out are 32 GB, albeit with a small amount of 64 GB in there as well. From what I can recall from the last nexus launch, they ship out the longer shipping times (ie: free shipping, 2nd day) then the overnight ones, so they basically arrive at the same time. Which in my opinion completely defeats the purpose of purchasing the faster shipping method since they all seem to arrive around the same time. They should fulfill the first to order, and those that paid for faster shipping, your paying the extra money to receive the device faster, not paying more to receive it at the same time. If that's how they handle orders, might as well only offer free shipping. Then it won't really matter when they show up.

Yeah pretty much, I mean it is "first come first serve" within a category, but it's pretty clear that they are shipping all the 32 GB units before any others. Don't know why that is, the larger ones are considered the more "premium" device are they not? Wouldn't it have made more sense to start with those, incentivize you to get the larger phone. I really need the phone because I've already sold my note 4, all i have now is a zenfone 2 which has LOUSY battery life using CM12 (i can't bring myself to go back to some skinned version of android) . literally need to recharge at least 2x a day.

I ordered the 32 graphite while the presentation was going on. It shipped Oct 23 and is supposed to arrive Oct 29. I am tracking the progress. The only thing I wish I did was get 2 day shipping...not because I need it fast...but because there is less hassle and stops involved in the process. The phone left from California and is now in El Reno OK. It has to make it to Philadelphia Pa. With 2 day air there would have been less chance of damage than having the device all over the place in a truck!

I doubt it's a deliberate plan on storage size as you seem to be implying (apologies if that's not the implication). I believe they would have scheduled production runs in China based on the volume of preorders and since the higher end ones are less popular than the cheaper ones, it would make sense that they would schedule those for a little later. It also sounds like graphite is getting scheduled after aluminum and frost for some reason. I ordered a 32 GB aluminum a day after the announcement, 9/30, (I was waiting on a Google Fi invitation that came that day)... and mine is in a pending state as well, scheduled for an 11/2 shipment.

I believe the first orders went out about 2 working days ahead of schedule. I'm expecting something similar for the rest of us.

That is the point I was trying to make,, faster shipping just means the shipping is faster once the shipping process has begun, not that they process that actual order first.

Mine order is suppose to leave warehouse on 27th and my delivery date is Oct 29-Nov5, still my order is pending and not being charged yet :( Plus its free shipping, not sure when will i receive it :'(

I get what your saying. Whenever Google decides to fulfill my order the shipping will be quick. Maybe 32 GB was the more popular choice, it seems like those are the ones going out before other ones.

So Google charged only recently, immediately in advance of your shipping? Huawei charged me immediately upon my pre-order last week. It's a completed, posted charge, not an authorization. Happened on the credit card statement closing date too, so payment is due.

Hello everyone,

I order a 32gb Nexus 5x ice for the wife and a 32gb aluminum 6p for me. I placed the order on Oct. 2 and it switched to pending on Oct. 19th. Arrival date is Nov. 5th - 9th

First World Problems!

Whelp, Google has till tomorrow to get my phone shipped in order to meet their delivery obligation (Oct 27th-28th). Unless there's an issue with their stock of 128 GB models.

Status hasn't even changed to processing yet. Hopefully there's movement today else I'll be calling Google Support tomorrow to get a refund for the overnight shipping.

Obligation on a estimate time of arrival.
My 6P Frost 64GB order launch day 9pm Pacific time with 2 day shipping has a eta of Nov 2 - 3. The leave warehouse on Nov 2. I doubt get my 6P on 3rd but if comes the follow Tuesday.

I feel like today is the day my pending status will shift to processing and then to shipping the next day. That's how the transition went for my Adopted case. I have exams to worry about, so I actually don't mind waiting a little longer.

Pulled the trigger on a 64 gb Aluminum model from Huawei directly.

Only shipping info so far is the generic "late November" shown on the initial order page. Hoping for an earlier arrival, but my Note 4 will hold till then.

It's not a delivery obligation. It's a delivery estimate. And they'll still send it next day shipping. I suspect if you try to get a refund for the overnight shipping they'll tell you tough luck, or ship it via ground, which will cause you an even longer delay.

Funny enough last year they refunded it, or gave me some sort of Play Store credit (even though I didn't complain or demand it) when something I ordered missed its delivery mark...might have been the Nexus 9. Google customer service has always been fantastic and proactive about that sort of thing, so I won't really be "demanding" a refund honestly. I'm not one to complain much or be entirely impatient.

And this is the problem with giving out dates, estimated or otherwise. While they say estimate on the email confirmation from a month ago, it's not really made abundantly clear on the order page. In fact I remember it saying 2-3 weeks when I first ordered before changing to the aforementioned dates...which indicated to me that those were firm dates.
