I have a question if I buy the phone from Huawei can I still get the nexus protect? I didn't see the option on their site.

Nope. It's only available from the Google Store, and you can only purchase it at the same time you buy the phone.

Thanks for clarifying. I knew the overhead would be bigger for a 64GB vs 32GB, but was surprised it was so linear. I would've assumed there would be 56-57GB left to use, somewhat similar to the 64GB iPhone6s, which has about that much. Oh well, should still be more than enough space.

Maybe they are going with the numbers??? 1.2 billion in India vs only 320 million in the US? LOL!!!!

I know it was a joke, but here in India the population that can afford OR would want to buy the Nexus 6P (assuming they can afford it) is way lesser than the US.

The only reason I can assume for the launch frenzy is that it's the festive season and phone manufacturers are getting their phones in left right centre 'cuz this is like our Christmas. Last week, the Moto Style was launched, this week the Nexus and the iPhone is also due in the next 2-3 days; there's also Chinese manufacturers who are going crazy launching phones here.

Yeah I was just playing around! No clue the true logic... Hopefully they start shopping soon!

it does seem high. what's also odd is the 64gb moto x pure edition also has less storage than expected.

my 64gb iphone has ~55GB available to use, so it doesn't seem like it would be reserved overhead since that should remain fairly consistent (even if it's a different OS, a 5GB discrepancy seems too large)

maybe there is an incorrect partitioning of the space or something going on. or maybe they misspoke.

I ordered a 64GB Graphite 6P from Huawei yesterday. When I placed the order, the estimated delivery date just said "early November". I logged back in to my Huawei account this morning, but there is no indication that I can find that states when estimated delivery date is. I am a little hesitant about this date, since it is out of stock on the Google store. My guess is late November but hopefully I am wrong.

when i talked to them last week, the rep said it would ship early november, but didn't have a hard date. when i pressed him for more information all he said he could find was that the phone will be released by november in the US.

take that for what it's worth. if i get it in the first week i'll be happy, if i get it before i travel for thanksgiving, i won't be furious. anything later than that and i'm returning it and will wait for a sale.

6P 64GB Aluminum Nov 18-20 why so long?? Ordered October 9th

Because you ordered 10 days after the pre-order started, and thousands upon millions of people have gotten in line in front of you. :-$

I thought the same thing when I heard him. I believe he wasn't thinking about that one, I would expect there to be 57GB in the 64GB version as well.

With all this waiting, I've been tempted to look into other alternatives.
I know it might be sacrilegious to speak of Samsung on a Nexus Thread. But, I'm tempted to look at the Galaxy S6 Edge+. It is currently on sale on ebay for $599 (and no tax for my state). Also, there is a special 4X cashback on ebay just for today. That would mean a cashback of $48. After the cashback, at $551, it does look like a good deal.
Deep down, I know I want a Nexus. But all this waiting, is frustrating.

If you're ok with touchwiz then that's a very good phone.

I'm rocking a Galaxy S6 Edge right now. And I'm switching to the Nexus 6P despite the fact that my phone is only 6 months old. It's a great phone and does a lot of things well, but it gets bogged down by touchwiz and some stuff is just clunky where Samsung tries to force its own solutions over Google's. It was fine for me for about 4-5 months, but then I couldn't take it anymore.

Take it from someone who returned the galaxy s 6 for this. The lag from touchwiz is unbearable. My Nexus 5 is faster

Has anyone else that ordered the first day noticed that they pushed back the ship date? Mine was 11/5 at the latest when I ordered and now it's showing 11/12 at the latest.

So I noticed my order switched from pre-ordered to pending today. At least I think it happened today. Hopefully that means progress.

I just posted this in the 5x forum, but thought I would here too!

want to see when it leaves the warehouse, go by this info:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nexus5x/comments/3ok46z/psa_if_you_go_to_google_play_on_your_desktop/

Settings cog at Play Store (not Google Store).

Here's mine. 6p leaves warehouse on 27th and has a 10/30 - 11/03 arrival date on my Google Store account page. My Chromecast date was right, let's see if the others are too!

Nice! Still waiting for my 6P to go to Pending (still show's "3-4 weeks"...looks like my 6P case has an Oct 27 date, even though the store page shows Nov 3-4.
