plus the preorder $50 credit is only until 10/26 (27? i forget) which would imply that after that date, there are no more pre-orders as the device is shipping and thus, launched.

You just have to preorder before October 25 to get the credit....

Personally, I'm just waiting for a text message from my Credit Card Company... anything over $0.25 hits and I get a instant text message. That will mean they have begun the process to ship out... tick, tick, tick, tick...

I still show preordered with Nov. 5-9th. 64GB Aluminum purchased within minutes of the site going live on 9/29.

Exactly. I have an App that hits a notification for any charge on my card and anything over $100 I get a text message as well as the app notification.

On a side note I preordered a 64 GB, Graphite within 30 minutes of launch and mine is still saying "Preorder" with a estimated delivery date of October 30 - November 2 but also still says ships in 2 - 3 weeks...

My order has also changed from Pre-Ordered to Pending. Holy Google Gods, does this mean shipping is less than 48 hours away?

I've used Square Trade before to repair a damaged GS4. With discounts, the plan was about $75 with a $50 deductible per incident. The problem is that you have to get your phone repaired, send them the receipt, then they reimburse you. In my case, the screen was damaged so the repair shop I went to had to order a part, which took three days to order, ship, and install. That doesn't include the Saturday and Sunday either so essentially it was about five days I didn't have a phone. For a lot of people, that's a long time to be without a phone.

Apple Care is more costly but from the experience of my friends who have it and have had to use it, it is super convenient and fast. If Google can guarantee replacement within 2 days, it seems like a great plan to get.

From what I understand they ship a replacement (or loaner, cant remember which) device to you with next day shipping. then you ship yours off with an included waybill so you dont pay anything to send it back to Google and you have a device to use immediately.

which would imply the preorder period ends on that date, an order after that would be an order, which would mean the product is shipping.

i could be wrong, but the language of their marketing seems to imply so

going by the 5x orders, there seems to be another step where is goes to "processing" which may be the stage right before it ships, as people's cards are being charged now for 5x orders

yep, and the circle (clock, pie chart, etc.) is in the same position it seems ;)

That's good news. Usually companies charge credit cards right when they're in the processing/shipping phase, which could mean 5x units might ship out today or tomorrow.

Yes, and several people are saying they were emailed/texted that their 5x will be delivered tomorrow.

Yea the benefit of AC+ is that you can basically get same day replacement in-store if you're near one. I personally never buy a phone w/o coverage of some type simply for the fact that sh!t happens. If you cancel the plan you're not really "out" a lot of money and to me having to spend $89 up front for peace of mind that if I shatter my phone on my tile floors one day it's only $79 to buy a new one with 2-day ship. If I don't want the plan at any point I can cancel and get a prorated refund... So a year later if this phone is $300 new, for example, I can simply sell my remaining policy back -- $45 refund -- and move on.

I'm assuming that if you damage your 6p, you would get a new once, at least early on. There wouldn't be too many refurbished models available.

i don't think any of those were ordered from the google store.

hmm. good point. I do know that mine ordered from the Google store has went to processing with my CC charged, so I made the assumption theirs was Google store as well. But I think they were from Carphone Warehouse.

They kind of have it written both ways on the official site! Says both pre-order or order by!
