I've played with the HTC EVO 4G LTE ... Ask me anything!

The SIM question.

Also, how does the 16 GB ROM work? My guess is that it's like the GNex in that it functions as the internal system storage space but can also accomodate pictures and other media. How much of that 16 is available after formatting + ROM?

Just go to Best Buy & add a new line to a family plan (or switch to family plan). Best Buy doesn't require 30 days usage on a new line before transfer of the device; They will immediately transfer to your original line. Then hook up an OLD Sprint phone (crappie flip?) to the new line so that you do not have to pay any additional fees for 4g. 2nd lines are also free. Keep going to Best Buy for your upgrades & switch between the 2 lines to get upgrades more often!

Just an idea :-)

I did this a few years ago, great idea however.... Keep in mind that the 2nd lines are no longer free. They did away with that earlier this year... I pay 19.99 per each additional line now. I didn't realize this until my lsat statement and I called CS to find out why my bill increased.

Ok let me ask another way. Can it take screen shot as easy as the galaxy nexus or iPhone? I have no idea what ics means.

ICS aka Ice Cream Sandwich is the version of Android that this phone runs (like the galaxy nexus). Taking screenshots is a native function of ICS now so no reason the EVO won't have that ability.

Thanks! That made way more sense!

I remember during the announcement and hands on for the original Evo there was a way to turn off sense, Is there any way to do so with the Evo 4g lte. I would love to see this bad boy run stock ICS

There has never been a way to turn it off. You would need to root and flash it. Touchwiz lets you use the stock launcher if you prefer, so if anything they might do that. Wouldn't really matter though since it so close to stock

Close to stock. Its literally day and night. Stock ICS has that beautiful holo blue theme. And the dialer and contact app looks amazing. Stock looks so much more futuristic. I with htc would let us turn off sense.

After having the Htc Evo 3d i can say ive been burned development wise. And i have to think it has to do with the camera. I am guessing it is very difficult to develop ROMs for the Evo 3d. There is no Cyanogemmod support at all. Now that the Evo 4g lte has a custom imaging chip, I wonder if that will halt development for custom Roms. Any thought?? I would love to se CM9 on this

Phil:

Do you question the manhood of the dudes in here complaining about the look/color scheme/feel of the phone? Or am I the only one doing that?

Sent from my EVO Shift.

I plan on running the Apex Launcher or the Nova Launcher on the EVO 4G LTE. This will give me the look and feel of pure ICS. Sure the entire phone will not be pure ICS, but close enough for me.
