I returned nexus 7 back to the store. I love its gorgeous screen but it seems that there are some serious with these tablets. My tablet was laggy. When typing web address letters would not show up right all the way but it would take few seconds before they appeared on the screen. Also overall the tablet felt slow. Often i would press on the screen to scroll or zoom and nothing would happen. It would take several attempts to get desired results. I read that these are not software issues but rather hhardware issues. I read that these are problems with digitizer. So I will wait for now.

None of these problems and I would make a bet that 99% of the Nexus 7 tablet users don't have them either. Great that you returned your unit and this should end this issue for this post....

Yeah, cant say I have any sort of lag on the 2 that I have had here. My first one had an issue with it turning on in general, where it just wouldnt power on or take a charge. I swapped that one out and this new one has been perfect. Just like first one other than that random issue out of nowhere.

With the problems you're having I'm starting to wonder if it's software related. I have the same issue where the touch screen doesn't respond for about 2-3 seconds. Happens periodically. I was thinking it was just my Nexus, 7 but the same thing happens on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. It seems to happen more on the Note 8.

It is well documented. I have read that this is hardware issue with the digitizer.

Still speculation at this point and I doubt it can't be fixed with a software patch. Just recently bought one and no issues so far. I doubt that Google would keep shipping them knowing that they might have to replace every one of them. Perhaps it was only the initial batches.

I would've simply exchanged it for a working one but whatever. I did two returns and now I'm extremely satisfied. Turns out my issue was patched by Google a few days after I did my exchanges though lol. Oh well. For the record there are not "serious problems with these tablets" as you stated. There are some bad units though. Since the multi-touch and GPS fix went through there's not any inherent flaws that are notably any more frequent than any other android tablet launch so far. I guess you could jump on the iPad train, I just can't swallow the limitations of iOS.

In short, I think you did yourself a disservice by not trying another unit.

Maybe I was just lucky, but I ordered mine from Best Buy just after it came out and it seems perfect. I don't have any of the problems mentioned. I love it.

On the box it says it was made in China 2013.06.

Maybe different lots and build dates had different issues?

Issue is that 32gb are hard to get in Canada still. Low supply. I need to wait few weeks i guess. Also this new lg tablet looks very interesting

Isn't on Play Store in Canada now?

I feel lucky. I bought mine first day at Walmart and have had zero issues with it. I don't use the GPS so I never had to worry about the GPS lock issue. Crazy how many people have problems with theirs.

Yes it is but I want to get one through best buy. No need to pay for 6 months that way

But you kept your BlackBerry Z10??? Hum??

It is phone not a tablet and honestly I like my blackberry. I like to have uncompromising security with this phone. 10.2 update coming this month will bring Android 4.2.2 to blackberry. This means much faster performance of Android apps running on Blackberry and many new apps like Flipboard
