J5 prime boot issues & screen flickering

Earlier today when I woke up, I found my phone switched off (it was charged upto 66%). I tried switching it on with lock button but it didn't start. I put it on charge and then try starting it but no luck. Then I Google it and with a combination of home button+volume button+lock button entered into a special mode from where I managed to boot my phone. Is it dangerous or normal? I also noticed its screen flickering on low brightness multiple times which is quite annoying. Is it a hardware or a software issue?

PS: It's a brand new phone under warranty

If the phone died due to depleted battery, just observe it for a while and try not to let it happen again. Regularly depleting a rechargeable battery to below 20% can kill it. It's ideal to carge it before it gets there unless there's no choice.
Which J5 Prime is this? Does it have removable battery?

Re: J5 prime boot issues & screen flickering

Make that below 40%. See Battery University - How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries and The Care and Feeding of Lithium Polymer Batteries.

The choice is to carry a power pack or to turn the phone off. Constantly "having no choice" will still kill the battery.
Not everyone can monitor phones to around 40% though. And as per that link, below 40% will not kill the battery. It will just lead to lower number of charge cycles. That's different from killing a battery that has just used up say 10 charge cycles. Inadvertent decrease to below critical voltage kills it.

And having a power bank does not necessarily mean you can always top it up. You might forget to charge the bank, or left it at home altogether. These are rare instances but it still goes to when there's no other choice.

Also, battery university is about at least 6 years outdated in some aspects. It still counts 500 cycles as average on batteries wherein studies in 2012 has calculated a range of 2000 to 10000 cycles for an average battery.

And what about screen flickering problem? Anyone has experienced it before?
Skin flickering comes from so many possible sources of issues, from SD card issues to battery power fluctuations tk hardware problems in the screen or motherboard. Fix the battery problem first and see if it persists.

But the screen flickers only when my phone is on low brightness or when backlight dims. At high brightness it's fine. Many other users have faced the same issue but no one knows the reason behind it.
