J7 2018 unlocked won't set up

[Android Central Question]

Bought an unlocked 2018 Samsung Galaxy J7.
My carrier is US Mobile and they said all I have to do is switch the sim card from my old phone to the J7 and I would be good to go.
But it keeps saying "Emergency Calls Only".
I am a senior that gets confused easily. Can someone tell me how to set up this phone please.

Welcome to Android Central! What's the exact model number of the phone? It's possible that the phone doesn't support US Mobile's network bands. Or perhaps the phone actually isn't carrier unlocked?

There are many different possible reasons why a phone may say "Emergency Calls Only". It's a bit difficult to troubleshoot all of the different possibilities. So contacting your carrier's customer support department would probably be the best thing to do
