Checked on my Pixel 3 after seeing a note about the January security updates for the 3a and up. Surprised as wasn't expecting a security only update.

UPDATE: Took approximately 30 minutes for the update to install on the phone and then rebooted as normal after completing the update. Checked after and the update date in the settings remains on October 5, 2021 however.

Thanks for letting us know :D I heard rumors of a January update but didn't really expect it. Glad to know Google is wrapping the 3 line up with one last update, probably to iron out any remaining bugs in Android 12. I'll most likely install it tomorrow evening ;)

Upon researching further this update for the Pixel 3 may only be for the 911 dialing issue that some Pixel owners were experiencing. So we still may be getting another update to deal with the Android 12 fixes you mentioned.

I was hoping that the promised 1st quarter update would fix the AT A GLANCE issue, and more importantly, fixing the problem with the BATTERY % icon on the Status Bar. Did the update you installed fix either of these problems? Thanks.

@IMANUT, again I believe this update only deals with an issue where a certain Microsoft app prevents Pixel phones from dialing out to reach 9-1-1 emergency services in the States. Hopefully, Google still releases the promised update/fixes for Android 12 that we are expecting and your issues are taken care of.

I just installed it. Only 497KB and download was pretty quick, but installation took a little over an hour. That is ridiculous!

Might as well get used to the long installation time. It's the Google new normal.
