JB 4.2.2 is total and absolute garbage

Is there any way to roll back (undo JB upgrade) without rooting?

JB is horrible. My phone is the slowest and buggiest it has ever been. Further, except for a silly camera update that I already had with Instagram and a useless lock screen widget that I never use, I can't tell how JB is different in any way. It certainly didn't do anything on the backend that was beneficial because my Nexus has been lagging since the upgrade.

No random reboots like others are complaining about though.

do a factory reset. it WILL fix you up.
4.2.2 is the fastest, and smoothest my phone has been since i bought it over a year ago.

if you are a verizon user, changes from 4.1 are as follows (all off the top of my head, there may be more)
new camera with photosphere 360 degree panorama
new photo editing features
new lock screen, swipe from right edge to get camera, left edge to add widgets (download dashclock, and place some widgets in there that you normally wouldn't use on your home scree, i have song search and google now widgets in there)
quick settings. hit the upper right button in the notification pull down, longpress on BT and Wifi to toggle them on/off, tap the blocks to jump to the settings.

I was also having a *lot* of issues with my phone freezing in my most used apps that have been rock solid for months. I had to force close, etc. After reading about the issues with this update; I did a factory reset.

It's not perfect but so far it has been better. I didn't reinstall everything (I uninstalled all but the most necessary apps before I did the factory reset so they wouldn't load automatically.) I also did a Carbon backup before everything to make sure if I wanted the settings back for something that I had unistalled prior to the factory reset, I would have it. With the exception of having to uninstall the latest Google Search update since it doesn't work (& didn't before the factory reset) I've only had one app still having some freezes and I'm tweaking that; I've been good for the last 24 hours of "normal" use.

Hope that helps.

4.2.2 ruined my completely stock (locked and unrooted) VGN as well. 4.2.2 was as fast as 4.1.1, and I did not care for the updated camera or the lock screen (although I only used them for about a week. Maybe they were great.). I really liked the group texting feature.

None of that mattered because 4.2.2 broke my hands free bluetooth (which is essential to me). I reset the phone (twice, actually) but the software has big problems (at least for me), so I either had to sell the phone and buy something else, or unlock and flash 4.1.1 (which I did.)

Works great again on 4.1.1. Despite the nuisance of wiping the phone and rolling back- I'm very happy with this device again. Maybe it's too much to ask, but my next phone will be one that has an available car and/or desktop dock, that isn't broken with a software update.
