A question, I'm still having no luck at my battery draining issue and I'm trying to find something that works. Has anyone heard of a fix from Samsung yet?

I see in my settings - apps - running, that there are a bunch of apps running, though I'm not using them.

How do I get them to stop? Would that help with the battery issues? I see there is a 'force stop' but I don't know what that does and am afraid to do that.

What is the difference between a process and service?

Are they safe to stop?

Thanks guys.

Some apps launch at start up whether you need them to or now. You can force close them. Some will stay closed, others will relaunch anyway. Facebook is one such app. Check the permissions of an app before you download it. If it does anything that you see no need for (like read contacts when it is a weather app) don't install it.

Things you can do to extend the battery:

Turn the screen off auto and set the brightness lower.

Turn off location services if you don't need it on.

Turn roaming off if it is on.

Don't run live wallpaper apps.

Limit your use of widgets.
