JB Upgrade

So, total newbe to the smartphone world. I have a one x running 4.0.4. I see HTC has an update on their site to 4.1.1. I don't want to try a custom rom yet. Can I do the HTC upgrade and then the ATT when it finally rolls out?

You have to wait until AT&T releases it... but if you upgrade that way, you won't be able to unlock and root for a while, until another exploit is found or HTC unlocks it themselves..

Custom rom is the way to go..I'm running viper XL, sense 4+ with 4.1.1.... it runs great, and I get way better battery life than stock, not to mention no bloat ware from AT&T
