Hi.

I am new here so forgive me if this has been already posted.

I have just purchased a tablet which has 4.2.1 version of jelly bean. I have noticed that for some reason my home screen looks different to other tablets that have the same version. For example the tablet that I have does not have the horizontal divider separating the icons to the rest of the screen. Also the icons are different as well. I have checked the version via settings and it says that it is 4.2.1.

I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on this. I am just wondering if the default launcher that I have on my tablet is missing some features.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the tablets that do have this divider and differently styled icons to mine have some sort of 3rd party launcher that I am not aware of.

I thought that the stock android 4.2.1 launcher is the same on all tablets.

Thanks

Being fairly new to Android myself, I have found that each brand has its own version/look to it. This I found that my Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD home screen looks completely different to my co-workers S4 or a Nexus. If you bought it direct from a retailer then it came that way from a factory. If you bought it second hand, the original owner may not have fully restored to stock.

YEs you can run either apex or nova launcher which mimic stock android. i prefer nova. :-) hope this helps

Hi.

So there is no way of me getting my default launcher to look like it should, being that it is 4.2.1?

Cheers
