Look at the current situation with ICS for Evo 3D. In the case of Jellybean I'm pretty sure it would be easier to get the source code for it and get someone to modify it themselves to work for the Evo 3D and then distribute it. But good luck not getting a huge fine for that at best.

So I'd say it's a fever dream.

Custom ROMs from xda or other developer sites? Very likely.

Just got my EVO 3D gsm updated to ICS. The phone is performing superbly. Update to JB, I don't think it is happening.

lol seriously! I actually sent HTC an email asking them to roll out ICS for EVO 3D GSM update in India! I was kinda expecting to see Jelly Bean being released before that happens(considering the time gone by) and it did! Shame on HTC! By the time they do their research and actually release an update to its mobiles, a newer version will already freakin' be out and they might even have the guts to claim older devices not supported! Crazy thing is the mentioned so called ICS update states with Sense 3.6, whereas there's already a Sense 4.0!

How we people are fooled by these jerks to think we're getting the latest and greatest and in half a year it's already history, or at least some make it seem so, when we know it's far from the truth! Something like how when I install computers with the latest version of a program by the time I give a system restore point, there's already another newer version! Whereas here I think the phone itself might die by the time it actually receives a freakin' update, if any!

It's a good thing development is the only way phones like the 3D will see a future OS update. Once ICS is released and source for JB released it will only be a matter of time.

Becuase of silly questions like these, I'll never buy another non nexus device in the future. I'm happy with my 3D, but I'll never buy HTC or Samsung again. I shouldn't have to ask these questions. And no, I have absolutely no time to dick around with rooting. That's just me though.
