JellyBean update for T Mobile Galaxy S II?

-Social Hub, and therefore push email, has also been removed.
Messaging: Samsung Galaxy S II Jelly Bean Support | T-Mobile

-And "Qik" the video chat software.

I am now in the middle of a long process trying to find a way to install SocialHub. I called Samsung support about the update removing "Social Hub" and they said my phone was defective and offered to repair it for free. Who do they have answer their phones?

Hmm.... I don't have social hub too.. is my phone defective?

Has anybody else noticed that that the 5Ghz WiFi band now seems to be disabled? It was there for ICS but I can't find the menu options to enable or disable the 5Ghz WiFi band in this build. I'm only connecting to my router on 2.4Ghz. I always used to be able to connect on the less crowded 5Ghz band. Or am I missing something?

Hold the home touch icon on the bottom of the phone for 2 seconds and press on the pie graph button next to the google search icon for the active applications.

Yes. I did notice the face unlock feature was gone. Do you have aciltive application widget and smart stay?

Nope. I don't have either one of those. I thought Smart Stay was a GS3 feature?

The Task Manager has changed a bit too. I think mem usage is overall higher as well. Telling it to close inactive apps frees up way less memory than it used to.

Mine works just fine.

Probably UI takes higher RAM to make the phone overall smoother... I mean I like the project Butter.

Do you have active application widget? I had it in ICS.. do you have it? I'm just wondering. And do you have smart stay??

Active application widget?? I'm not sure. Do you mean like a scrollable app? Yes, if so. And no, I do not have Smart Stay. Well, I don't see it as yet.

Aka task manager widget where you can close running apps.

Oh ok, SamsungGalaxySII, thanks. Then no, No I do not. I remember when I first set the phone back up after the install, it was there. The stock app. When I wiped and then did a fresh install of all apps, it was gone. I had a shortcut to it in circle launcher.

Oh well... I can access to it by holding down the home button and touch the pie graph to get there. I have no clue why did they removed face unlock though...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... who the heck knew to hold down the HOME button and that not only would you see the PIE but Google Now or whatever and delete recent apps? Ok, SGSII what other goodies have you found? I created a Pros and Cons thread if you want to add it there. Or here.

i dont mind all the changes. the apps and features that got left behind, i dont miss that much. the only thing im trying to figure out is how to add a "favorites" folder from my contacts onto my homescreen. the closest thing i found is this widget called favorites contacts.

the battery drain is kind of ridiculous. but im hoping its just going to get better after i check out what apps are running and what i can uninstall/disable. so far... it sucks.

I have to say I am loving the update!
It's like a new phone.
Now the wait to get the s4 isn't so bad! Lol

Yes. I was thinking about the new phone... but after the update, it totally feels like a new phone! Now I can wait.. I don't it's necessary to buy a new phone right now.

I'm going there right now. I agree about not needing another phone as yet. This update is pretty good. Still seeing some slowness in certain apps but no other issues to report. My next purchase is a Note. I want this -> New Samsung HM5100 Bluetooth BT s Pen Headset for Galaxy Note 10 1 Series | eBay

Note or Note II?? I wanna stick with Galaxy S series... there is no way to stick Galaxy Note in my pocket... Yeah there's purse, but I'm a man so I don't carry that around me haha

Note 2 or 3 I meant to say. I know I do not want the GS4. So I'll wait as I like the keys on the GS2. I am not too keen on the one key as I came from the MyTouch 4G with that. So I will and see.

i hard reset the phone and now everything is great. battery isnt so bad anymore but isnt as great as it was when on ICS. overall, excellent update!

Yeah. I did a factory reset too after the update. Yes, battery is ok now but drain little bit faster than ICS.
