Question Need help, not receiving software updates in new s24 plus phone

Hello @mustang7757 , thanks for your help. I did not want to risk doing something wrong that could affect my chance of requesting a refund or replacement. So, I explained the situation to the vendor and requested a fix, refund, or replacement. The in-house engineer changed the firmware to TMB, which came with April's security update, and I updated through the months till the most recent one (June). Even if I did not do it myself, your assistance helped me discuss the issue clearly with them.
Hello...just to inquire...after changing your csc to TMB on your s24 ultra, did you receive the one ui 7

So now it's ok?
The CSC - GCF is your Sim card that's inserted and the XAA the last one won't ever change.
I also noticed something else, when I got the phone and inserted my mtn sim card, the network signal was showing 4G+ , later at night I inserted my airtel sim card, it changed to LTE+, I now inserted my mtn sim back, it's still on LTE+

After updating to one ui 7 my network signal went back to 4g+

Nothing you can do about that as you're using a phone for US market in another country.

Hi guys, I think I have the same issue. I'm in Australia and purchased a device from an "Australian" company who shipped direct from hong kong, here's my info screens:

I got a notification a few days ago about a OneUI update, but I was in an area with terrible service so I waited to do it. Today the notification is gone, the Software Update screen says "Download and Install" but when I tap that it thinks for a second then says I'm up to date....

The retailer has been extremely challenging to deal with so I'm just going to try and fix it myself.

I found this thread a few months ago and figured I was going to flash different firmware. I'm comfortable with that if needed, but I see the option to just change the CSC as well and I'm not sure what to do. This is a $1700 device and I use it to generate income, so I just want to be sure I'm taking the right path before I go ahead.

I also see this:

My phone currently switches between LTE, 4G, and 5G. Does the statement above about only being able to use LTE apply to me?

Thank you 🙏

You have 2 different versions on your device, did you flash the s23 to your s24 using CSC? This will never get updates .

You are using a US version overseas?

Look at the screenshot I'll point out in your screenshot in red circle which is not supposed to be unless someone flashed with a different CSC

The model number with DS at the end the US version never had one which stands for (Dual SIM) only international. Screenshot_20251006_231340.jpgScreenshot_20251006_231302.jpg

I have done nothing to this phone - this is how I received it from the seller. I am currently gathering information.

As per my post I purchased the phone from an "Australian" seller who shipped direct from Hong Kong.

Ok then try to return it
I tried - they are being difficult and will leave me without a phone for at least a month, and I have no confidence I won't just get the same phone back with new firmware. I rely on this phone for work so I'd like to try and resolve this myself.

I'm asking for help to confirm whether I have the same issue this thread deals with and, if so, advice on the best course of action. I've flashed phones before and don't have a problem with it if that's what we've got to do, but I see talk of just updating the CSC.

Another question - is there an official samsung list of CSCs and country codes publicly available? I found a few forum posts but none of them include GCF or XAA. Can someone tell me exactly what these codes mean and, ideally, link to an official samsung source to confirm?

In case I haven't been clear - the seller has already refused a refund and instead offered a repair (could take a month), so I expect their plan is to just flash it or change the CSC.. both of which I might as well just do myself. We're past the stage of asking for a return and at the stage of trying to fix it myself so I can just get on with things. If I can gather enough info and hard evidence to involve consumer affairs then I might be able to pursue a refund that way, but right now I'm trying to figure out if I can fix it myself.

Ok so , flash the stock firmware using Odin and frija, the XAA means it's unlocked sim free version , I have sticky in each Samsung forum on how to do this so look it over and if any questions can tag my name.

Found your link, process of flashing firmware looks fine (y)

The main thing I'm concerned about is post #167 where the guy ends up only on LTE - my phone works on 5G now, if I flash can I expect 5G to contine working?

When I enter the device as it reports itself (SM-928U) on sammobile it lists USA firmwares (looking like DSA is the no carrier one), if I enter the device as SM-928B I see Aussie firmwares of which XSA looks like the no carrier one. Which do you suggest?

Cheers

Where are you referencing post #167?

The device is not formatted properly, once you get it to what it was originally I don't know if you will get 5g as the device is not for your country and the Aussie firmware is not compatible with US so you won't be able to flash it .

US version and International Samsung firmware are not interchangeable and can't flash.
