JT's Non-Voodoo 12-30 kernel

My SETCPU for kernel says:

Linux version 2.6.29 (imnuts@virutalbox) (gcc version 4.4.1 (Sourcery G++ Lite 2009q3-67) #1 Mon Jan 3 12:12:22 EST 2011

That is running JT's 12/30 non voodoo (musical voice)LOVE IT!! Along with SuperDarkDJ05 ROM my battery life is GREAT!!

thats what everybodys set cpu says. and yeah i am enjoying the battery life as well. the only to truely enjoy this phone is to root. thats all there is to it.

I notice some speaker crackle listening to media and also with plugged in headphones, but with bluetooth headset the sound is clean.

I must be missing something. The latest JT non-voodoo I see in my ROM manager is from 11/16. Where are you all seeing the 12/30?

Hi noob here, this may be a stupid question but I've just flashed the DL09 update, adrynalyn's SuperClean ROM for DL09 and Superfast kernel 12/25 one (for DJ05?)... dunno if this is all compatible, but everything is running pretty smooth. My question is, can i flash this 12/30 kernel for DL09?

Question, if i flashed dl09 with odin, am i still able to install themese and animations and all that from ROM Manager>Download ROM>Sonofskywalker3>

or do i need to flash a blackhole rom??

i ran the non-voodoo kernel 12/30 everyone is trying out

did anyone get a weird, flashing/pixilated screen in place of a startup animation????

it scared the crap out of me

Also, if someone can just confirm...i applied the kernel called "JT's Test 12/30 Kernel DJ05". i just want to make sure this is it, and NOT voodoo related. i want nothing to do with voodoo

You have to be in the voodoo folder to get voodoo and DJ05 kernels work with DL09 so any of the kernels under son of skywalker should work.

For themes, you need to load the theme hack after installing the theme. Adrynalne has a link for this in the Clean .4 DL09 thread. I am running the newer DJ05 NexTang theme from XDA. I like it alot.
{Theme}{Port} NExtang DJ05 1.12.11 major update - xda-developers

Was not sure about the orange but I like it now :)

I am also running the 12/30 kernel. Not sure why but today was my first day with DL09 and I had my best battery life in a long time. Hopefully it will stay.

Using ROM Manager I went into Sonofskywalker3 and am running the Aperature Science boot/close animation just fine. Running Jt's 12/30 non voodoo and SuperDarkDJO5 with DL09 modem installed. Everything including battery life are EXCELLENT.

how are you guys getting such a good battery life?

i have DJ05, SuperDark for DJ05, and JT's 12/30 non voodoo. i fully charged my phone last night till 1am, woke up to it down to 82%

what am i doing wrong?

First off, I make sure my background data is turned off. Turn off Wifi and GPS of course unless you NEED them. After that it's just maintenance all day. I am in airplane mode UNLESS I check something that needs 3G. EVERY phone I've ever owned drained FAST when searching for signal. I run the same ROM as you too. Try this and see. I'm staying with SuperDard and JT 12/30 till something better comes along.

I leave gps on 24/7. I have wifi on when at home with profile settings. I can get anywhere from 12-16 hrs and I have my work email via exchange going all day. Plus other e-mail and texts. Some days are better than others. I charge mine at night and use airplane mode as I sleep. I am sure if you leave airplane mode on all the time, you will get killer battery life but that will not work for me.

where can i get this kernel? in rom manager i go to sonofskywalker4 - kernels. the 12/30 ones i see are adrynalyns 12/30 test kernel and jt's test 12/30 kernel. none of them say anythig about voodoo.

Those are them. I use THAT jt's test 12/30. Some like adrynalyns.

You must have something running in the background that is draining it. The normal rate to look for when your phone is not in use would be 2% an hour. Check in Settings > About phone > Battery use. Also think of intermittent background operations like syncs. Don't put much worry into things like GPS and Wifi as they're off unless in use, so if you don't see the icon for it in your notification bar, it's not running.

I have been up and down the buffet of kernels today... I think I will give this one a run for a while.
