Juice Defender and Blockbuster Help

Charging it right now, but it says the most right now is PVMtpServiceStart

edit: Is that the one that is letting it not sleep

Hum I wonder what that is (whether it's essential or not)? When was the last time you completely turned off your phone?

Maybe once your phone is charged, let it run for a few hours, then check system panel.

I think the phone does not sleep when charging so that may be the "PVMtpServiceStart" you're seeing.

Last time I turned it off is when the vzw lady told me to remove the sim and put it back in because I was having an sms issue. Want me to turn it off ?

Charge it to green. Unplug then turn it off. Now charge it (while still off) to green again (it should take 5-20 minutes).

Now turn it on. This way your phone will know what a full battery "looks" like. Run it for a few hours and check Spare Parts.

Under "accounts and sync" what do you have syncing and what intervals are they syncing?

I already fixed a bit of the account and sync stuff, the stuff that I don't use is not synced, and the stuff I use is set to update 4-8 hrs.

I'll see if that battery trick works.

I remember when I first got my INC I had to power on and off once it was all set up becasue Android System was eating battery.
Spare Parts, and the "battery usage" shortcut are useful for diagnosing rogue apps. System Panel is also good to see how much RAM each of your apps is using (and you can kill apps too).

You don't happen to have a task killer do you?

I slept 8 hours last night and lost about 6% battery. (I turn my data connections off when I'm sleeping though since I don't need to be receiving emails or friend status updates)

Good, some of the preinstalled bloatware/apps will immediately re-open after being killed, then the TK will kill them again. This cycle keeps going and really drains battery keeping the phone awake.

Leave background data on, I believe you need it for the market and any syncing that is going to happen (weather, news, email)

What are your GPS, and bluetooth settings, off I hope (unless you're currently using them)?

The GPS & Bluetooth are grey in the third screen to the left, so I believe is is off

Is that battery conditioning thing true? Like will it get better after a week? And do you think a 1600 mah will do good?

I don't know 100% abut battery conditioning, Lithium Ions supposedly don't need it, but some say they do. It cant hurt and I think to some degree it's helpful. Also the phone needs to train itself on how much the battery is charged. Bump charging can really help with Battery calibration.
Maybe just once run that battery to empty then charge to full and bump charge. This is more so for the phone to "know" what a full battery looks like and how much it should actually charge it in the future. It'll take about 4 hours to do this. Once you do this, turn off all data (3G/4G and wifi) and leave the phone alone for a hour, the battery should only drop 2%.

As far as the 1600, there have been tests showing that many of these aftermarket batteries are actually rated a lot higher than they preform. There's also the placebo effect too. Personally I wouldn't bother with only 200 more mAh until some solid reviews come in from people that are smart.

If it was more like 1750/1800mAh I might get one, since at that level you can conservatively estimate that the actual battery mAh is more like 1650mAh.

Alright..it's 94% charged waiting for green light, then I will follow the rest of the procedures

Do you have the "battery status bar" by Modded Logic app installed? I like it since it puts the percent in the notifications so you always see it? It uses basically no battery power.

I have one called Battery Life, which I hate cause it's like an icon in the screen that I feel tells me ... LOL CHARGE YOUR PHONE LOW BATTERY ! ..

Ill get that one u told me.. going to power off and wait till green light this time.

Alright, turning it back on now, after 2 green lights. It's gonna be idle for the most part, what do I do exactly in spare parts?

Going to walk my dog now at 6:30.. it's at 100% let's see what is it at idle when I get back

Open it up, go to "battery history", make sure it's always set to "since last unplugged".
Look at other usage- chances are it will be mostly "Running" taking battery. Display should about second. Click "Running", "time spent without sleeping" should have a percentage, mine is 10% 1 hour 13 minutes for example. My phone has been unplugged for 12 hours so this makes sense.
Basically here you want to make sure your phone is going to sleep. your number should be 2-15% I imagine if you turned it on and didn't mess with it.

Now look at partial wake usage. If something is keeping the phone from sleeping it will have a huge usage bar. There shouldn't be much activity here unless you have something going on like Pandora, etc...

Ok at 6:48 it is ... 97% NOT BAD ! . Actually it was 98% once I left. So I am guessing it got better? So the battery knowing when it is full, can more conserve more?

When I saw Time spent without sleeping was 18% 3m 25s.
Then I saw that Wi-Fi was taking 99% and then it running was another 99%.. Isn't 4G LTE taking more than wi-fi, I heard that somewhere here in the forums.

So are the results good?

Those sound pretty normal. Wifi is also a battery eater if you have weak signal. I'm not at my normal house now so I'm running 3g the whole time. I need to compare the 4G vs wifi when I get back to Phoenix tomorrow. Under battery usage (menu /settings/ about phone) what does it say wifi is taking?

You're time without sleeping sounds good. If your phone doesn't sleep your battery will only last 4-6 hours. Check it in the morning after you've been sleeping to make sure the phone was also sleeping.

I used the standard settins.. and it told me that wifi is 3% and display is 76% .. idk I turned down the brightness on the display to 25%

It sounds like it is running normal now. See what happens over the next few hours. Just remember, keeping/turning the display on wakes up the phone and burns battery keeping the display on. I still think that 40-80% display is too huge but that's what most people are getting so oh well.
