Juice Defender and Blockbuster Help

Ditto

Hey while I'm in here. Quick question.

With blockbuster disabled, should you still see PVMtpServicestart and PVWmdrmservice in settings/applications/running services?

If blockbuster was still running would these 2 services or 1 of them show up in the battery usage area drawing massive juice?

I Just want to make sure I have shut this down for good. I DO NOT see these 2 services in my battery usage area but I DO see those 2 in my running services area.

Thx.

Thanks, so they are NOT running in the background when they are in the "all apps" section?

It is best NOT to fill up the extra two "home" pages with app icons?

Nope, "all apps" is your app tray which is nothing more than a list of what you have available. :)

I doubt filling up home pages with icons will slow you down much since they're just shortcuts - they definitely won't affect the battery. Too many widgets WILL have an effect since they use data/the battery to stay updated, though most of them will let you adjust how often the updates occur.

Yes, even with Blockbuster updates disabled those will continue to show up under "running services". If you were seeing them under "battery use" that would most likely mean it hadn't been disabled properly, but from your description I think you're good to go. :)

I just wanted to report that even I can admit when I'm wrong...I was so sold on the fact that Juice Defender Beta was actually helping my battery life but being told that it is using battery life. Well, I decided to remove it from my phone and I have to say that, keeping my tweeks the way they were and just removing JD app, my battery is in fact better without it than with it. What I realized was I never did the tweeks first but instead I adjusted my phone for best battery life AND installed JD all in one swift move. Now I know better and will sit in the corner with my dunce cap on for 30 minutes. =)

Thx alot rem!

Lmao Jedi. Did jd show that it was saving battery on its home screen? Like the little 1.19 or whatever. Just installed it last night and am weary lol.

Yea I just went ahead and uninstalled it. On a good note my battery has been pretty great all day...:D

Thanks for the news Jedi. I was thinking about installing it just to try, but won't now. My battery's doing well enough alone.

Lmao!! All of us tbolt owners now no longer worry about a bad hair day.... Its all about a bad battery day. "Sorry officer, I didn't mean to kick the dog upside down.... You see, I have a tbolt and the battery was really bad today...."

The officer pulls out a tbolt and just says "I understand buddy, don't do it again" :)

I have a few noob questions about Juice Defender. I downloaded Y5 to help when I was near a known wifi signal to save battery, does JD do the same thing? Lastly...does the wifi auto on/off on JD work like Y5 does...ie it uses cell towers and not GPS to locate itself?

Sorry for all the silly questions, but really enjoying playing with the program!

I have a question about Blockbuster, if I dont open the app ever will I have to worry about it autoupdating anthing? My guess is I would not due to it not being linked to anything, or having my approval to connect to anything..

Just make sure it is not updating and you can ignore it. Personally i have updated it and then check to make sure it still has the right settings... but that is just me.
