Juice Defender on Epic 4G?

I gave up on Juice Defender. After 3 days without it I haven't noticed any greater battery drain. What I do notice is that the phone wakes up faster and my push email doesn't go to sleep for 15 minutes at a time.

I've also given up on App killers. Seems like if I let the OS handle this stuff everything works much better.

What I have noticed is if I'm in a low signal strength area, switching to WiFi really improves battery life.

Actually, that's a big issue for me since the developer totally revamped the app. It continuously loses the WiFi signal, where as the older version never had those issues. Also, the battery saving display has been wacky. Sometimes it says I'm extending my batter x300 and sometimes nothing is displayed at all. Too many bugs since the upgrade and I wish he didn't mess around with it because it was perfect before.

If the new version of Juice Defender is buggy, what was the last good version?

I've only using Quick Settings now, that or Power Control Plus, and disabling things like 3G, GPS and Sync when not using them in a poor signal area, (or Wifi when near a Wifi) thus allowing the phone to be just a phone...so far, it seems to work better than Juice Def or ATK type programs.

XX2 Quick Settings works great. When in a poor data signal area disable the data and still have a phone. It beats airplane mode everytime.
