Received my Asus Transformer pad yesterday. Wanted to go Android a while ago but my previous job supplied me with a Blackberry and my current job an iPhone so haven't had a chance to use it as a phone OS. Was very skeptical about the need for a tablet and how useful if at all it would be for me then recently I realized my beloved Netbook (Dell Mini 9) was on it's last legs, still I wasnt considering a tablet, had used the iPad a bunch of times and was utterly unimpressed. Then whilst browsing netbooks and laptops in Best Buy I played around with a Transformer and was sold, the keyboard dock really sealed the deal. So far the user interface is taking a bit of getting used to, definitely not as intuitive as it should be but far more useful and interesting than the iPad. A couple of minor disappointments: No Netflix support yet, no Skype video chat yet, Grooveshark doesn't allow me to browse to the standard site without using their app (seeking a work around), wasnt able to play DivX films off my media server and had difficulty connecting the unit to my XP machine for file transfer (can do it over the wifi ok but copy/paste is cumbersome and slow). On the flip side playing emulated Snes games is a treat, got a remote desktop app to work and loving the sheer dept of customization options and community support without the need for rooting the device.
