Well, with the new Edge pricing, it has become something affordable so we are going on Edge and getting new phones.
I am really going to miss the Advanced Calling and the Moto active display. I am getting a Note 4 to try something different. It does not yet have VoLTE.
I am not expecting amazing things from the Note battery, but my Maxx battery has definitely degraded over time (14 months) and it has started to disappoint me. I LOVE the Maxx. Not one thing wrong with it, but I have always been hesitant of non removable batteries because I know how batteries degrade over time.
Well, I get to keep my Maxx without turning it into Verizon, as I am off contract and my mom gets to keep her little LG (she is getting the Note 4 as well). My husband has to turn in in Maxx and he is going with the Ballistic Vinyl 64 GB Turbo.
What is nice about the new Edge pricing is that the discount basically washes the monthly phone payment and in a year, if I want to upgrade to the highest end phone, it will only cost me $175 (and my Note), which is less than the $300 on contract. We have 10 gb data, which we will never use, and that is the same cost as the 6 gb I was paying for yesterday.
I always thought I would want to keep my old phones, but I never use them. I will keep the Maxx as a backup in case I am waiting on a phone from insurance and if I decide to go the full two years on this phone, I still save about $180 from buying it on contract. Yes, I could sell the Maxx right now for about $150, but not nearly that much in 10 more months.
Anyway, I will miss my Maxx. I suppose if I hate the Note I will exchange it for the Turbo within the 15 day return period. That being said, I am anxious to try the s pen. I am hoping it makes swyping easier.
