Jumping the gun to this phone

i have an optimus s and i will either get this phone or the photon but the photon doesnt have all the best roms but here i get cm9 i will probably get this phone so i will be watching over this fourm and learning about this phone hopefully get it soon

To be honest i really enjoyed my epic but got to the point i didn't need the hardware keyboard or want the extra thickness it required. I never really had any of the issues many of the guys in this forum have. Gps always worked. No lockups, reboots or any other issues caused by the phone.

I went with the nexus s4g and am really pleased. But there are times i play with my daughters epic and realize what a good phone it still is.

Just flash it...

well i went from an EVO to a optimus S...missed the screen size, but also wanted a keyboard so i went with the epic, and imo, its jst as good as the evo!

Epic isnt a bad phone! battery life sucks, but im hoping this rom im flashing will help with that!

It's way better than EVO.

I get a day or two battery with the ET4G 1800mah battery and cm9. Unless I'm using it heavily.

Yeah, no offense to the Evo, cause it's a great phone, but you can't beat the AMOLED screen on the Epic.

Why aren't you considering the Nexus S 4G? It's the same price as the Epic on Sprint if you're upgrading, and they're getting official ICS.

Having said that, I absolutely LOVE my Epic 4G, and CM9 is fantastic for an alpha release and will get even better in the coming weeks.

Now, maybe not the favorite option for some, but if you aren't happy with battery life, it's relatively inexpensive to purchase a second stock battery and a wall charger for it (wall charger usually has usb to charge phone, too). Amazon sold me and my fiancee two batteries and two chargers for around $40. Two+ days of battery now, never worried about running out.
