June 2024 Pixel Update?

You'll get it when it's ready. Or would you prefer half backed and multiple updates to fix it after like a beta? Personally, I'll wait.
I get your point, yet this is supposed to be Google's strong suit. Of course we don't want updates that don't work, but it's not like they don't know a new month comes every 30 days. They trumpet the new features with the quarterly feature drop, yet here it is nearly mid-June. Where are they? Makes you wonder if they haven't cut so many people they can't get it done.

There have been modem issues, especially on T-Mobile, since the March update, and they (T-Mobile support) told my fiancé, who has a 7 Pro, that google was working on a fix and the update would come in June. I know this is true because if you look at the Google Developers site, in May, T-Mobile did not get a modem update like the other carriers did as they are on the older version ending in .004. So she's had to pay top dollar for a device and wait 3 months for them to fix it? In what other industry can a company have a product that doesn't work and they tell you to wait 3 months and we might fix it. Can you imagine buying another product, such as an appliance that cost over $1,000, and they just said, "sorry your new dishwasher doesn't work, we are working on something that might fix it, but it could take months for us to be able to get it to work, and no, you can't return it for a refund, just let it sit there and look pretty and we'll fix it soon."

ETA: Now the Google site is reporting that both the feature and security are both landing today, so it must be true :p

I still haven't received the June feature or security updates but I got a Play update that I downloaded. However it still shows May 1st. Weirdness.

My Pixel tablet and my wife's AT&T P8P both got the update. My T-Mo P8P hadn't received it, so I side loaded it. Everything went well.

I've never understood why people get so worked up at perceived delays in updates. Makes me wish Google just wouldn't tell us when they're coming.

For me, it relates to the fact some things don't work right, but then they say fixes are "coming soon" then some people get them and others don't. For example, I mentioned earlier in this thread we have a P7Pro in our home that has had cellular connectivity issues since the March update on T-Mobile. Calls to T-Mobile support say Google is releasing a modem update for them for Pixels in June. Well, now the update is out, many are getting it, but not T-Mobile yet, so we have to just continue to live with an expensive device that doesn't work right. At least T-Mobile is giving a bill credit for that device. And don't say to sideload, because I'm sure this will be a T-Mobile version of the current June update that isn't listed on the developers site yet, so they are pretty much giving us the bird.

And another thing that pisses me off about Google updates........they do all kinds of press releases about the new features in this quarterly feature update, then when you get the update they aren't there. Heck, I just go the new "find my device even when it is off" on my Pixel 8 Pro a week ago, and I think that was part of the March feature update. Geez, just give it to us with the update at that time, but no, they say it will come from the "server side" and could be weeks before you get it. Just ridiculous for one of the biggest companies in the world.

But ... It'll get here eventually.
