June Software Update

I'm good waiting 2-3 weeks after Google for a security update and getting them consistently every month. Beats the old days where it took months to get an outdated patch and with an unlocked device I don't have all the carrier crap ware.
Exactly, not sure why the s22U unlocked not been first which wasn't the case with Note 20u unlocked but no biggie.

So with the N20U the unlocked usually came first?

I was curious about that since this is my first unlocked (I guess I won't call the Nexus 4 an unlocked since it was special before the Pixels).

In the end it really doesn't matter if comes before or after others but the first few updates on a new release I think are the most important because I think that's where most of the bugs fixes get pushed out after a launch and what you get after those few updates will be how it pretty much runs the life of the phone.

Basically it's random first is carriers then unlocked for S22 lines and Note20 lines, then sometimes is the other away around .

Yeah when i had the Note 20u before s22u came out usually unlocked were getting it first, but seems to be switching up on the s22u

I shouldn't care, but I do. Hoping the U.S. unlocked models get the June update on Monday.

am expecting in the next 48 to 72 hours we will see the June update hit the U.S. locked carrier devices, then 24 to 48 hours after that it will get to the U.S. unlocked carrier devices.

If you keep anticipating that it's coming any day now, eventually you'll be right. The same technique can be used to forecast thunderstorms and earthquakes. :)

A firmware update usually arrives a month after the previous one, give or take a week or so. Any other guess is unlikely to be reliable.

Thanks for taking such detail in trolling my posts. You should consider becoming a comedian. You can do a bit about people waiting for software updates for their phones.

I see this behavior in many people playing slot machines. They have a ritual that they perform before each spin. Of course if they do it enough times eventually they might get a satisfying payoff. That one payoff reinforces that behavior, all the while totally ignoring the higher number of times that ritual didn't work; and so the ritualistic behavior continues. Intermittent Positive Reinforcement is the strongest of the types of positive reinforcement. It's certainly a lucrative technique for TV psychics, "You will come into some money." 6 months later a tax refund arrives. That psychic was phenomenal!!!

Ok, let's try!

Q: How can you tell when Samsung users are desperate for another update?

A: They haven't gotten one that day.

My unlocked note 20 ultra on T mobile got updated yesterday that includes June security patch. Nothing yet on my unlocked S22 ultra on T mobile. Still rocking May's.

I'm pretty sure it will roll out sometime today or sometime this week.
Only Carrier that hasn't pushed as well is T-Mobile and Sprint , Since only AT&T and Verizon rolled out last week.

[Lets not let this get out of hand ]

Hmmm...I haven't encountered that. Do you ever wipe your cache? Was your current setup a build from scratch or a restore. I'm just trying to imagine what would make an S22 Ultra stutter. I have 3 of them and none of them stutter during video or anything else so I'm just trying to figure it out.

Unfortunately there are lemons like that in every phone model ever made. For example I had to exchange my first S22 for a new one because using the camera was making the phone heat up ti uncomfortable and downright unsafe levels after just a short period of use-- tech coach noted a 25 degree jump from 90 degrees to 115 in just 4 minutes of using the camera that day I did troubleshooting with them. Exchanged it for my current S22 and haven't had an issue like that with this one.

Sometimes you just happen to be the unlucky one that runs into a lemon.

After some initial issues with battery, which seems to be fairly common right after updates, I have now reached my best battery yet in terms of both overall use and screen on time. I have got 1 day 7 hours before, but with just 5 hrs 30 minutes of screen on time.

Now I got 1 day 3 hours with almost 10 hrs Screen on Time. These batteries seem to so a good job of recalibrating after updates. I'm not gonna run it down thst far every day of course but nice to know it's more capable now.

Great to hear a report of a U.S. unlocked device receiving the update, thank you.

My note 20 ultra yes, S22 ultra no not yet I am in no hurry. Did not mean to confuse anyone. I would have thought the new Samsung s22s would receive update before my note. But it's Samsung lol
