The trade in deal Samsung is running was too good for me to pass up so I pulled the trigger and bought an unlocked S8. Should have it in a few days. I can't wait! This will be my first "flagship" phone as I've mostly stayed in the mid range. I'm currently using a G5 Plus and a Nexus 5X.

You'll love it!

Camera is fantastic , the 835 SoC is fast and smooth and da screen...Amoled is the best.

Not to mention all the features like Iris scanner, secure folder and one handed use.

Welcome to the family!

Thanks guys. I guess I'll be hanging around this forum for a bit trying to pick up some S8 wisdom. The phone looks awesome.

I ordered one off Swappa and it'll be at my place when I arrive early next week (I'm currently in China working). My phone history is pretty simple...

I went from the Motorola Razr (used it for many years) to the Blackberry Storm2, which I loved (had it 3 years and only gave it up after BB stopped issuing updates for that model).

Then I switched to a free iPhone 4S from Verizon (the 5 had already been out for a while and I had lots of credit) and used that until the iPhone 6. I bought that at its release and loved it (only complaint being how stupidly slippery it was). But when I started working in China I found it difficult to get any 4G coverage. I had zero 3G so just 2G 95% of the time.

Early last year I snagged a used but mint 6S Plus and its perfect in china. All 4G bands from all three Chinese carriers are covered. But despite how amazingly fast the phone is and how user friendly it IS too damned big in a case.

Nice I held a Samsung Galaxy S8 in my hands I was in love. Same physical size as the iPhone 6 and 7, but all screen! Just WOW from here to eternity.

My two fears are the known fragility of the S8's glass front and back (I have personally witnessed two of them breaking over here, one from a fall of around 3 ft) and of course... what will happen to my brain as I switch from iOS to Android. That is going to be a steep learning curve. I had better find a good tutorial online.

By the way, I am holding onto the 6S + just in case. It'll be my backup phone.

I wouldn't buy used ones. If you do, make sure it doesn't have the Bluetooth issue before you pay

Congratulations. Enjoy.

Saved $150. Is still in the wrapper.

Never heard of the bluetooth problem but just googled it. Hmmm... Well, fingers crossed.

You are in for a very nice treat :) I have had Nexus 6, 6P, 5x, and Pixel XL in addition to S3, and all Notes from 2 to 5 :). I know have S8 Plus and this is by far the best phone I have ever owned. Enjoy :)

It showed up early this afternoon. I'm still goofing around with it but loving it so far. Got most of my required apps up and running. Lots of settings to wade through.
