Just bought S4 for wife, what's the best rom?

Hi Everyone,
As subject states, it's AT&T S4 and I was hoping I could find a less bloated and less cartoony rom, because so far she is not impressed with lollipop.

If it's the most stable one, then we have no choice.

At least I can remove bloatware, is it easy to root?

Unless she is a computer type I would leave it stock Android. Mine has always been stable and better after the upgrade to 5.1. Look at posts by AC Question to see what happens when you mess with things too much!

Honestly if it were me, I'd probably go back down to 4.4 or something like that, 5 is really too colorful, even settings are spread all over the place. Are there at least any apps to make it look normal again and put all settings in one place or something like that?
Also, is it possible to combine Text Messages and Emails in same window?
