Just bought the mhl connect for my Sony Xperia z3 compact. How can I get it working with my tv?

Just bought the mhl connect for my Sony Xperia z3 compact.

So I can watch things from my phone on big TV. It won't work, keep getting this message on my phone when I try to connect 'usb devices disabled error' connected USB devices disabled. Can anyone help?
