Hey all! My roommate has asked me to root her LS 670 ZVJ and I thought before I started I would check and make sure this all sounds right. I'm root proficient with Samsung and HTC and the Nook, and just wanting to make sure I'm reading everything right and not missing an easier solution.

1) backup everything
2) downgrade the phone to a previous rootable version of the ROM (not ZVJ)
3) root that phone using one of the one-clicks
4) install custom recovery (if the one click doesn't)
5) nandroid backup current rooted stock ROM (or does this matter?)
6) flash away with a ROM at the Z?? level of radios I have at this point

Sorry, going into a phone's root world I've never been in before is a bit of a learning curve and since it's not my phone I just want to make sure I have all the steps properly laid out and I don't end up having to give her one of my EVOs while I try to figure out what I broke.

Thanks for any help

There is a great step by step tutorial in the stickies section by sfhub that'll help you out. :)

You pretty much have it right though. Just read the stickies like previous post said and you should be good. You can always come back for more help if needed.

thanks all... I'm not used to androidcentral / this phone, since the last movement on the root method was older than 4 months, just wanted to make sure I had the steps down and was not missing anything new that would allow me to skip a few steps.

Were it my phone, I would dive in like a madman (oh, the devices I've rooted)... as it's not, I want to get it done, right and working immediately.

Thanks for verifying those are the current steps and right stickies...
