Just wanted to say hello to everyone! I was over on precentral while I had my Pixi & Pre Plus, but my Pixi radio died for the second time, so I decided to upgrade to the Evo and give Android a shot.

Already spent hours getting the phone where I want it (so far the hpone is awesome)...so many options, LOL...but if anybody has any starting advice, I'm open to hear it!

Hi there EVO23.
Welcome to Android Central.

I'm happy to see a fellow Webos user making a transition over to a better Operating System.

Enjoy the forums - learn more about your phone HERE.

Hi there! Welcome to Android Central.
The Evo is awesome! It is a great phone. You will love it. Android is, to me, the best mobile platform. You will love the change.
If you have any questions visit the Evo forum by clicking the link Rushrl gave you.

You made a great decision.

Hey everyone. I was an active member over at PreCentral and webOSroundup until my Pre was on its last legs. Opted to pick up the Evo. Very sweet hardware. Made sure to make my way over here to say hi!

Hey, bjshedwick..
Happy to see you here on the forums.

Welcome to Android Central.

Enjoy.

Welcome to the dark side, lol. I also came from the WebOS/Pre and was on Precentral since I had the phone. Also made the switch to the Evo and can honestly say that I don't regret it one bit(ok, miss the universal search where I could just start typing and it would bring everything up) but outside of that and as you said, the hardware rocks. Glad you made the switch and there are plenty of Precentralers here as well. Enjoy the phone and the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I figured there were a few webOS people here, especially form the threads there saying "...going to Evo" Its only been two days, but so far, great phone and the OS isn't hard to learn...I miss a few things about webOS, but not the hardware at all...2 pixi radios died in 9 months, so sad! Love swype, the apps, the customizing without patching...so far everything.

Having said that, not a webOS hater or Android fanboy...its just a phone, LOL. People get really angry about it sometimes. Anyway, nice site so far, figured it would be just like precentral.

Has the problem I've been reading about, and experiencing, with no FB notifications to the phone been fixed yet. Couldn't find anything on it, so I'm figuring no, but thought I'd ask.

I don't know much about the EVO hands on (heard it's great), since I own the Nexus One. But, my nephew is on Sprint with the Pre and he has to "literally" get a new one every month. He is on his 6th phone. Crazy. Enjoy the reliability of better hardware.

Oh, he doesn't drop all the time or something crazy like that.

You hear a lot of stories like that about the Pre. I'm going to do my best to not bash it though...some people got really angry about which phone & OS was the best...I enjoy god hardware and an OS - but at the end of the day, it's still just a phone :)

Anyway, was going someone could answer a question. Looks like I can't start smythe thread yet, but looking for answers on how to quickly switch from window to window on native web browser when multiple windows are open.

Not impressed with dolphin or opera - they take too much room on screen, so don't want to use their tab system. So I'm looking if theres a quicker way than taking menu, then windows. I was used to sliding across the screen for my next window on webos, and keep trying that, LOL! doesn't work :(

if you have tips, let me know :)
